1 Et il dit à Moïse : Monte vers le SEIGNEUR, toi et Aaron, Nadab et Abihu, et soixante-dix des anciens d’Israël et vous adorerez de loin.
|
1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
|
2 Et Moïse seul s’approchera du SEIGNEUR ; mais eux ne s’approcheront pas et le peuple non plus ne montera pas avec lui.
|
2 And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.
|
3 ¶ Et Moïse alla et raconta au peuple toutes les paroles du SEIGNEUR et tous les jugements. Et tout le peuple répondit d’une seule voix et dit : Toutes les paroles que le SEIGNEUR a dites, nous les ferons.
|
3 ¶ And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.
|
4 Et Moïse écrivit toutes les paroles du SEIGNEUR et il se leva de bonne heure le lendemain et bâtit un autel au pied de la colline, ainsi que douze piliers pour les douze tribus d’Israël.
|
4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
|
5 Et il envoya les jeunes hommes des enfants d’Israël, qui offrirent des offrandes consumées, et sacrifièrent des bœufs en offrandes de paix au SEIGNEUR.
|
5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.
|
6 Et Moïse prit la moitié du sang et le mit dans des bassins, et l’autre moitié du sang il aspergea sur l’autel.
|
6 And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
|
7 Et il prit le livre de l’alliance et le lut à l’attention du peuple ; et ils dirent : Tout ce que le SEIGNEUR a dit, nous le ferons, et nous obéirons.
|
7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.
|
8 Et Moïse prit le sang et l’aspergea sur le peuple, et dit : Voici le sang de l’alliance que le SEIGNEUR a faite avec vous selon toutes ces paroles.
|
8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.
|
9 ¶ Puis Moïse et Aaron, Nadab et Abihu, et soixante-dix des anciens d’Israël montèrent,
|
9 ¶ Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
|
10 Et ils virent le Dieu d’Israël ; et il y avait sous ses pieds comme un ouvrage dallé de pierre de saphir, et comme si c’était la substance du ciel en sa clarté.
|
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
|
11 Et il n’étendit pas sa main sur les nobles d’entre les enfants d’Israël : aussi, ils virent Dieu et ils mangèrent et burent.
|
11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
|
12 ¶ Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Monte vers moi sur le mont et sois là : et je te donnerai des tables de pierre et une loi et les commandements que j’ai écrits, afin que tu puisses les enseigner.
|
12 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
|
13 Et Moïse se leva ainsi que son assistant Joshua (Josué), et Moïse monta sur le mont de Dieu.
|
13 And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.
|
14 Et il dit aux anciens : Attendez-nous ici jusqu’à ce que nous revenions auprès de vous ; et voici, Aaron et Hur sont avec vous : si un homme a quelque affaire à régler, qu’il aille à eux.
|
14 And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.
|
15 Et Moïse monta sur le mont et un nuage couvrit le mont.
|
15 And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
|
16 Et la gloire du SEIGNEUR demeura sur le mont Sinaï, et le nuage le couvrit pendant six jours, et au septième jour il appela Moïse du milieu du nuage.
|
16 And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
|
17 Et la vue de la gloire du SEIGNEUR était, aux yeux des enfants d’Israël comme un feu dévorant sur le sommet du mont.
|
17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
|
18 Et Moïse entra au milieu du nuage et monta sur le mont ; et Moïse fut sur le mont quarante jours et quarante nuits.
|
18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
