1 Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Taille deux tables de pierre comme les premières ; et j’écrirai sur ces tables les paroles qui étaient sur les premières tables que tu as brisées.

 1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

2 Et sois prêt au matin et monte dès le matin sur le mont Sinaï ; et présente-toi là devant moi, au sommet du mont.

 2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount.

3 Et que nul homme ne monte avec toi, et qu’aucun homme non plus ne soit vu sur tout le mont ; ni moutons, ni bœufs non plus, ne paissent près de ce mont.

 3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.

4 Et Moïse tailla deux tables de pierre comme les premières, se leva de bonne heure le lendemain et monta sur le mont Sinaï, comme le SEIGNEUR le lui avait commandé ; et prit en sa main les deux tables de pierre.

 4 ¶ And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.

5 Et le SEIGNEUR descendit dans le nuage, se tint là avec lui et proclama le nom du SEIGNEUR.

 5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.

6 Et le SEIGNEUR passa devant lui et proclama : Le SEIGNEUR, le SEIGNEUR Dieu, miséricordieux et qui fait grâce, plein de longanimité, abondant en bonté et en vérité,

 6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

7 Gardant miséricorde envers des milliers, pardonnant iniquité, transgression et péché, et qui, en aucune façon, acquittera le coupable ; punissant l’iniquité des pères sur les enfants et sur les enfants des enfants, jusqu’à la troisième et quatrième génération.

 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

8 Et Moïse se hâta d’incliner sa tête vers la terre et adora ;

 8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.

9 Et il dit : Si maintenant j’ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ô SEIGNEUR, je te prie, que mon SEIGNEUR, aille au milieu de nous ; car c’est un peuple obstiné ; et pardonne notre iniquité et notre péché et prends-nous pour ton héritage.

 9 And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

10 Et il dit : Voici, je fais une alliance : devant tout ton peuple : je ferai, des merveilles, telles qu’il n’en a pas été faites sur toute la terre, ni dans aucune nation ; et tout le peuple au milieu duquel tu es, verra l’œuvre du SEIGNEUR ; car c’est une chose redoutable que je ferai avec toi.

 10 ¶ And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.

11 Observe ce que je te commande aujourd’hui : Voici, je vais chasser de devant toi l’Amorite (Amoréen), le Canaanite (Cananéen), le Hittite (Héthien) , le Perizzite (Phérésien), le Hivite (Hévien) et le Jebusite (Jébusien).

 11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

12 Prends garde à toi de peur que tu ne fasses une alliance avec les habitants de la terre dans laquelle tu vas entrer, de peur que ce ne soit un piège au milieu de toi.

 12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

13 Mais vous détruirez leurs autels, vous briserez leurs statues et vous couperez leurs bosquets.

 13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

14 Car tu n’adoreras aucun autre dieu, car le SEIGNEUR dont le nom est Jaloux, est un Dieu jaloux.

 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

15 De peur que tu ne fasses une alliance avec les habitants du pays et que lorsqu’ils se prostituent après leurs dieux et sacrifient à leurs dieux et que quelqu’un t’appelle et que tu manges de son sacrifice ;

 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;

16 Et que tu ne prennes de leurs filles pour tes fils ; et que leurs filles se prostituant après leurs dieux, et n’entraînent tes fils à se prostituer après leurs dieux.

 16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.

17 Tu ne te feras pas de dieu de métal fondu.

 17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

18 Tu observeras la fête du pain sans levain. Pendant sept jours, tu mangeras du pain sans levain, comme je te l’ai commandé, au temps du mois Abib : car au mois Abib tu es sorti d’Égypte.

 18 ¶ The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.

19 Tout ce qui ouvre l’utérus est à moi, ainsi que tout premier-né mâle de ton bétail, que ce soit du bœuf ou du mouton.

 19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.

20 Mais le premier-né d’un âne, tu le rachèteras avec un agneau ; et si tu ne le rachètes pas, tu briseras son cou. Tu rachèteras tout premier-né de tes fils. Et nul ne paraîtra les mains vides devant moi.

 20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

21 Tu travailleras six jours ; mais au septième jour tu te reposeras ; tu te reposeras au temps du labourage et de la moisson.

 21 ¶ Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

22 Et tu observeras la fête des semaines, des premiers fruits de la moisson du blé ; et la fête de la récolte, à la fin de l’année.

 22 ¶ And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.

23 Trois fois par an tous vos enfants mâles se présenteront devant le Seigneur DIEU, le Dieu d’Israël.

 23 ¶ Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.

24 Car je déposséderai les nations devant toi et j’élargirai tes limites ; et nul homme ne désirera ta terre, lorsque tu monteras pour paraître devant le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu trois fois par an.

 24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.

25 Tu n’offriras pas le sang de mon sacrifice avec du levain ; et le sacrifice de la fête de la pâque ne passera pas non plus la nuit jusqu’au matin.

 25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

26 Tu apporteras les prémices des premiers fruits de ta terre à la maison du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu. Tu ne feras pas bouillir le chevreau dans le lait de sa mère.

 26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.

27 Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Écris ces paroles ; car suivant la teneur de ces paroles, j’ai fait une alliance avec toi et avec Israël.

 27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.

28 Et il fut là avec le SEIGNEUR quarante jours et quarante nuits ; il ne mangea pas de pain et ne but pas d’eau ; et il écrivit sur les tables les paroles de l’alliance, les dix commandements.

 28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

29 Et il arriva lorsque Moïse descendit du mont Sinaï, avec les deux tables du témoignage dans la main de Moïse, lorsqu’il descendit du mont, que Moïse ne savait pas que la peau de son visage rayonnait, pendant qu’il parlait avec lui.

29 ¶ And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

30 Et lorsque Aaron et tous les enfants d’Israël virent Moïse, voici, la peau de son visage rayonnait, et ils eurent peur de s’approcher de lui.

 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

31 Et Moïse les appela, et Aaron et tous les dirigeants de la congrégation revinrent vers lui et Moïse leur parla.

 31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

32 Et après cela, tous les enfants d’Israël s’approchèrent et il leur commanda tout ce que le SEIGNEUR lui avait dit sur le mont Sinaï.

 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 Et après que Moïse eut achevé de parler avec eux,  il mit un voile sur son visage.

 33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.

34 Mais quand Moïse entrait devant le SEIGNEUR pour parler avec lui, il retirait le voile jusqu’à ce qu’il soit sorti. Et il sortait et disait aux enfants d’Israël ce qu’il lui avait été commandé.

 34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

35 Et les enfants d’Israël voyaient le visage de Moïse, que la peau du visage de Moïse  rayonnait et Moïse remettait le voile sur son visage, jusqu’à ce qu’il soit entré, pour parler avec lui.

 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
