1 Puis il me dit : Fils de l’homme, mange ce que tu trouves, mange ce rouleau, et va parler à la maison d'Israël.

 1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

2 Et j'ouvris ma bouche, et il me fit manger ce rouleau.

 2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

3 Et il me dit : Fils d’homme, fais manger ton ventre et remplis tes entrailles de ce rouleau que je te donne. Ainsi je le mangeai, et il fut dans ma bouche pareil à du miel comme douceur.

 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 ¶ Et il me dit : Fils d’homme, va, rend-toi à la maison d'Israël, et parle-leur mes paroles.

 4 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

5 Car tu n'es pas envoyé vers un peuple au parler inintelligible et à la langue difficile, mais vers la maison d'Israël ;

 5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

6 Non pas vers de nombreux peuples discours étrange et au langage difficile, et dont tu ne puisses pas comprendre les paroles. Assurément si je t'avais envoyé vers eux, ils t'auraient prêté attention.

 6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

7 Mais la maison d'Israël ne voudra pas t'écouter, car ils ne veulent pas m'écouter ; car toute la maison d'Israël est effrontée et d'un cœur dur.

 7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

8 Voici j'ai renforcé ta face contre leurs faces, et ton front contre leurs fronts.

 8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

9 J'ai rendu ton front semblable à un diamant, plus dur que le silex ; ne les crains pas et ne sois pas non plus effaré par leur regard, bien qu'ils soient une maison rebelle.

 9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

10 De plus il me dit : Fils d’homme, toutes mes paroles que je te dirai, reçois-les dans ton cœur, et entends de tes oreilles.

 10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

11 Et va, rend-toi vers ceux de la captivité, vers les enfants de ton peuple, et parle-leur et dis-leur : Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU ; soit ils entendront, soit ils se refrèneront.

 11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

12 Alors l'esprit m'enleva, et j'entendis derrière moi une voix d'une grande précipitation, disant, Bénie soit la gloire du SEIGNEUR depuis son lieu.

 12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

13 J'entendis aussi le bruit des ailes des créatures vivantes qui s'entre touchaient l'une l'autre, et le bruit des roues face à elles, et le bruit d'une grande précipitation.

 13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

14 Ainsi l'esprit m'enleva, et me ravit, et je m'en allais avec amertume, dans l'ardeur de mon esprit ; mais la main du SEIGNEUR était forte sur moi.

 14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

15 ¶ Puis je vins vers ceux de la captivité à Tel-abib, qui demeuraient près de la rivière de Chebar, et je m'assis où ils étaient assis, et je restai là stupéfié parmi eux, sept jours.

 15 ¶ Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

16 Et il arriva, au bout de sept jours, que la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à moi, disant :

 16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

17 Fils de l’homme, je t'ai établi sentinelle sur la maison d'Israël ; c'est pourquoi tu entendras la parole de ma bouche, et tu les avertiras de ma part.

 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

18 Lorsque je dirai au pervers: Tu mourras assurément ; et que tu ne l'auras pas averti, et que tu ne lui auras pas parlé pour avertir le pervers de son mauvais chemin, afin de sauver sa vie ; ce pervers-là mourra dans son iniquité ; mais je re requerrai son sang de ta main.

 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Toutefois, si tu avertis le pervers, et qu'il ne se détourne pas de son immoralité, ni de son chemin immoral, il mourra dans son iniquité, mais toi tu as délivré ton âme.

 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 De même, si un homme droit se détourne de sa droiture, et commet l'iniquité, et que je mette une pierre d'achoppement devant lui, il mourra ; parce que tu ne l'as pas averti, il mourra dans son péché, et sa droiture qu'il avait faite ne sera plus en mémoire ; mais je requerrai son sang de ta main.

 20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21 Néanmoins si tu avertis l'homme intègre que l’intègre ne pèche pas, et qu'il ne pèche pas, il vivra assurément, parce qu'il est averti, et toi, pareillement tu as délivré ton âme.

 21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

22 ¶ Et la main du SEIGNEUR était là sur moi, et il me dit : Lève-toi, va dans la plaine, et là je parlerai avec toi.

 22 ¶ And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

23 Je me levai donc, et sortis dans la plaine, et voici, la gloire du SEIGNEUR se tenait là, comme la gloire que j'avais vue près de la rivière de Chebar (Kébar), et je tombais sur ma face.

 23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

24 Alors l'esprit entra en moi, et me dressa sur mes pieds, et parla avec moi, et me dit: Va et enferme-toi dans ta maison.

 24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

25 Quant à toi, Ô fils d’homme, voici, on mettra sur toi des cordes, et on t'en liera, et tu ne sortiras pas parmi eux.

 25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

26 Et je ferai que ta langue s’attache au palais de ta bouche, pour que tu sois muet, et que tu ne puisses leur être un réprobateur: car ils sont une maison rebelle.

 26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

27 Mais lorsque je te parlerai, j'ouvrirai ta bouche, et tu leur diras: Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU : celui qui entend, qu’il entende ; et que celui qui se refrène, qu’il se refrène : car ils sont une maison rebelle.

 27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
