1 Et il arriva après ces choses, que le sommelier du roi d’Égypte et son boulanger avaient offensé leur seigneur, le roi d’Égypte.
|
1 And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
|
2 Et Pharaon fut courroucé contre deux de ses officiers, contre le chef des sommeliers et contre le chef des boulangers.
|
2 And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
|
3 Et il les plaça sous garde dans la maison du capitaine de la garde, dans la prison, le lieu où Joseph était enfermé.
|
3 And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
|
4 Et le capitaine de la garde les donna en charge à Joseph, et il les servait: et ils restèrent une saison sous garde.
|
4 And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
|
5 ¶ Et ils rêvèrent un rêve tous les deux, chacun son rêve la même nuit, chacun selon l’interprétation de son rêve, le sommelier et le boulanger du roi d’Égypte, qui étaient enfermés dans la prison.
|
5 ¶ And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
|
6 Et Joseph vint vers eux le matin et les regarda, et, voici, ils étaient tristes.
|
6 And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
|
7 Et il demanda aux officiers de Pharaon, qui étaient avec lui sous garde dans la maison de son seigneur, disant, Pourquoi avez-vous l’air si triste aujourd’hui ?
|
7 And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
|
8 Et ils lui dirent,Nous avons rêvé un rêve, et il n’y a personne pour l’interpréter. Et Joseph leur dit,Les interprétations n’appartiennent-elles pas à Dieu ? Racontez-les-moi, je vous prie.
|
8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
|
9 Et le chef des sommeliers raconta son rêve à Joseph et lui dit, Dans mon rêve, voici, une vigne était devant moi ;
|
9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
|
10 Et dans la vigne étaient trois sarments ; et c’était comme si elle bourgeonnait, et sa fleur sortit, et ses grappes donnèrent des raisins mûrs :
|
10 And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
|
11 Et la coupe de Pharaon était dans ma main: et je pris les raisins, et les pressai dans la coupe de Pharaon, et je donnais la coupe à la main de Pharaon.
|
11 And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.
|
12 Et Joseph lui dit, C’est ici son interprétation: Les trois sarments sont trois jours.
|
12 And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
|
13 Cependant d’ici trois jours Pharaon doit élever ta tête, et te rétablir à ta place: et tu dois mettre la coupe de Pharaon dans sa main, suivant la façon précédente, lorsque tu étais son sommelier.
|
13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
|
14 Mais pense à moi, lorsque tout ira bien avec toi, et montre- de la gentillesse, je te prie, envers moi, et fais mention de moi à Pharaon, et fais-moi sortir de cette maison.
|
14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
|
15 Car en vérité, j’ai été enlevé de la terre des Hébreux: et ici je n’ai rien fait pour qu’on me mette dans le donjon.
|
15 For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
|
16 Lorsque le chef des boulangers vit que l’interprétation était bonne, il dit à Joseph, Moi aussi je rêvais, et voici, j’avais trois panières blanches sur ma tête :
|
16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
|
17 Et dans la plus haute panière il y avait toutes sortes de pâtisseries pour Pharaon ; et les oiseaux les mangeaient de la panière qui était sur ma tête.
|
17 And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
|
18 Et Joseph répondit et dit: C’est ici son interprétation: Les trois panières sont trois jours :
|
18 And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
|
19 Cependant d’ici trois jours Pharaon doit élever ta tête au-dessus de toi, et doit te pendre à un arbre ; et les oiseaux doivent manger ta chair sur toi.
|
19 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
|
20 ¶ Et il arriva le troisième jour, lequel était le jour de l’anniversaire de Pharaon, qu’il fit un festin à tous ses serviteurs: et il éleva la tête du chef des sommeliers et celle du chef des boulangers parmi ses serviteurs.
|
20 ¶ And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
|
21 Et il rétablit le chef des sommeliers dans son office de sommelier ; et il donna la coupe en la main de Pharaon :
|
21 And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand:
|
22 Mais il fit pendre le chef des boulangers: comme Joseph le leur avait interprété.
|
22 But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
|
23 Cependant le chef des sommeliers ne se souvint pas de Joseph, mais il l’oublia.
|
23 Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
