1 Je me tiendrai en sentinelle à mon poste, et je me placerai sur la tour, et je ferai le guet pour voir ce qu’il me dira, et ce que je répondrai lorsque je serai réprimandé.
|
1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
|
2 Et le SEIGNEUR me répondit, et dit : Écris la vision, et dresse-la clairement sur des tablettes, afin que celui qui la lit puisse courir.
|
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
|
3 Car la vision est encore pour un temps assigné, mais à la fin elle parlera, et ne mentira pas ; si elle tarde, attends-la ; car elle viendra sûrement, elle ne tardera pas.
|
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
|
4 Voici, son âme qui s’enorgueillit n’est pas intègre en lui ; mais le juste vivra par sa foi.
|
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
|
5 ¶ Et aussi parce qu’il transgresse par le vin, il est un homme orgueilleux, qui ne reste pas tranquille chez lui, qui élargit son désir comme l’enfer, et est comme la mort, et ne peut-être rassasié ; mais il rassemble à lui toutes les nations, et amasse vers lui tous les peuples.

5 ¶ Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
|
6 Tous ceux-là ne feront-ils pas de lui une parabole, et un proverbe railleur, et diront Malheur à celui qui accumule ce qui n’est pas à lui ! Jusqu’à quand ? Et à celui qui entasse sur lui de la boue épaisse !
|
6 Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
|
7 Ne se lèveront-ils pas subitement, ceux qui te mordront, et ne se réveilleront-ils pas ceux qui te tourmenteront, et auxquels tu seras en butin ?
|
7 Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?
|
8 Parce que tu as pillé beaucoup de nations, tout le reste des peuples te pillera, à cause du sang d’hommes et de la violence faite au pays, et à tous ceux qui y habitent.
|
8 Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
|
9 ¶ Malheur à celui qui est convoiteux pour sa maison d’une convoitise mauvaise, afin de placer son nid haut élevé, pour être délivré de la puissance du mal !
|
9 ¶ Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
|
10 Tu as consulté la honte pour ta maison, en retranchant beaucoup de peuples, et tu as péché contre ton âme.
|
10 Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.
|
11 Car de la muraille, la pierre criera, et la poutre de la charpente lui répondra.
|
11 For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
|
12 ¶ Malheur à celui qui bâtit une ville avec le sang, et établit une cité sur l’iniquité !
|
12 ¶ Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
|
13 Voici, n’est-ce pas par le SEIGNEUR des armées que les peuples travaillent pour en nourrir le feu, et que les peuples eux-mêmes se lasseront en vain ?
|
13 Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
|
14 Car la terre sera remplie de la connaissance de la gloire du SEIGNEUR, comme les eaux couvrent le fond de la mer.
|
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
|
15 ¶ Malheur à celui qui donne à boire à son voisin, lui mettant ta bouteille, et même l’enivres, afin que tu puisses voir leur nudité !
|
15 ¶ Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!
|
16 Tu es rassasié de honte plutôt que de gloire ; bois toi aussi, et découvre ton incirconcision ; la coupe de la main droite du SEIGNEUR se tournera vers toi, et un vomissement honteux sera sur ta gloire.
|
16 Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.
|
17 Car la violence du Liban te couvrira, et la dévastation (faite par) les bêtes qui les effraya, à cause du sang des hommes et de la violence faite au pays, à la ville et à tous ceux qui y habitent.
|
17 For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
|
18 ¶ À quoi sert l’image taillée, que le sculpteur a taillée ; l’image fondue, un enseignant de mensonge, pour que l’ouvrier qui fait des idoles muettes se fie en son ouvrage ?
|
18 ¶ What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
|
19 Malheur à celui qui dit au bois Réveille-toi ; et à la pierre muette Lève-toi, elle t’enseignera ! Voici, elle est plaquée d’or et d’argent, et il n’y a aucun esprit au-dedans d’elle.
|
19 Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
|
20 Mais le SEIGNEUR est dans son saint temple ; que toute la terre garde le silence devant lui.
|
20 But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
