1 Quand Israël était jeune enfant, je l’aimai alors, et j’ai appelé mon fils hors d’Égypte.
|
1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
|
2 Comme on les appelaient, ainsi ils s’éloignaient d’eux, ils ont sacrifié aux Baalim et brûlaient l’encens aux images taillées.
|
2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
|
3 Et j’ai appris à Ephraim (Éphraïm) à marcher, les prenant par leurs bras ; mais ils n’ont pas su que je les guérissais.
|
3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
|
4 Je les ai tirés avec des cordes d’homme, avec des liens d’amour, et j’ai été pour eux comme ceux qui enlèveraient le joug de dessus leurs mâchoires, et je leur ai présenté de la nourriture.
|
4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
|
5 ¶ Il ne retournera pas dans le pays d’Égypte, mais l’Assyrien sera leur roi, parce qu’ils ont refusé de retourner à moi.
|
5 ¶ He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
|
6 Et l’épée s’arrêtera sur leurs villes, et consumera ses forces, et les dévorera à cause de leurs propres conseils.
|
6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
|
7 Et mon peuple est déterminé à s’éloigner de moi ; bien qu’on les appelle vers le Très-Haut, aucun ne l’exalte.
|
7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
|
8 Comment t’abandonnerais-je, Ephraim (Éphraïm) ? Comment te délivrerais-je, Israël ? Comment te ferais-je comme Admah ? Comment te rendrais-je tel que Zeboim ? Mon cœur est agité en moi, mes repentances se sont embrasées ensemble.
|
8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
|
9 Je n’exécuterai pas l’ardeur de mon courroux, je ne reviendrai pas pour détruire Ephraim (Éphraïm) ; car je suis Dieu et non pas un homme ; le Seul Saint au milieu de toi ; je n’entrerai pas dans la ville.
|
9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
|
10 Ils marcheront après le SEIGNEUR, il rugira comme un lion ; et quand il rugira, les enfants alors trembleront venant de l’Ouest.
|
10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
|
11 Ils trembleront hors d’Égypte comme un oiseau, et hors du pays d’Assyrie comme une colombe, et je les logerai dans leurs maisons, dit le SEIGNEUR.
|
11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
|
12 (12 1) Ephraim (Éphraïm) m’entoure avec des mensonges, et la maison d’Israël avec des tromperies ; mais Judah gouverne encore avec Dieu, et est fidèle avec les saints.
|
12 Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
