1 Ô Israël, retourne au SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, car tu es tombé par ton iniquité.
|
1 O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
|
2 Prenez avec vous des paroles, et revenez au SEIGNEUR, dites-lui Ôte toute iniquité, et reçois-nous gracieusement, et nous te rendrons les veaux sacrifices de nos lèvres.
|
2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
|
3 Asshur (Assur) ne nous sauvera pas ; nous ne monterons pas sur les chevaux, et nous ne dirons plus à l’ouvrage de nos mains vous êtes nos dieux ; car en toi l’orphelin trouve miséricorde.
|
3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
|
4 ¶ Je guérirai leur rébellion ; je les aimerai libéralement ; car ma colère s’est détournée d’eux.
|
4 ¶ I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
|
5 Je serai comme la rosée sur Israël il grandira comme le lis, et il poussera des racines comme le Liban.
|
5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
|
6 Ses branches s’étendront, et sa beauté sera comme l’olivier, et son odeur comme celle du Liban.
|
6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
|
7 Ceux qui demeurent sous son ombre retourneront ; ils revivront comme le grain, et ils grandiront comme la vigne, et leur senteur sera comme celle du vin du Liban.
|
7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
|
8 ¶ Ephraim (Éphraïm) dira : Qu’ai-je plus à faire avec les idoles ? Je l’ai entendu, et l’ai observé ; je suis comme un cyprès toujours vert. Ton fruit vient de moi.
|
8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
|
9 Qui est sage, et il comprendra ces choses ? prudent, et il les connaîtra ? Car les chemins du SEIGNEUR sont droits, et les justes y marcheront, mais les transgresseurs y tomberont.
|
9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
