1 Et il sortira une verge du tronc de Jesse (Isaï), et une Branche grandira de ses racines.

 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 Et l'Esprit du SEIGNEUR reposera sur lui, l'esprit de sagesse et d'intelligence, l'esprit de conseil et de puissance, l'esprit de connaissance et de crainte du SEIGNEUR.

 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3 Et il lui donnera une intelligence rapide dans la crainte du SEIGNEUR ; et il ne jugera pas d'après la vue de ses yeux, et ne réprouvera pas non plus selon ce que ses oreilles auront entendu.

 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 Mais il jugera avec rectitude les pauvres, et réprouvera avec équité les dociles de la terre ; et il frappera la terre par la houlette de sa bouche, et fera mourir le malfaisant par le souffle de ses lèvres.

 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 Et la rectitude sera le ceinturon de ses reins, et la fidélité, le ceinturon de ses flancs.

 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

6 Le loup demeurera avec l'agneau, et le léopard dormira avec le chevreau ; et le veau, et le lionceau et le bétail gras, seront ensemble, et un petit enfant les conduira.

 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 Et la vache se nourrira avec l'ourse ; leurs petits dormiront ensemble, et le lion mangera de la paille comme le bœuf.

 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 Et l'enfant qui tète s'ébattra près du trou de l'aspic, et l'enfant sevré étendra la main sur le repaire du basilic.

 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

9 On ne fera pas de mal, et on ne détruira pas, sur toute ma sainte montagne ; car la terre sera remplie de la connaissance du SEIGNEUR, comme les eaux couvrent la mer.

 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10 ¶ Et en ce jour-là, il y aura une racine de Jesse, qui se tiendra comme une bannière des peuples ; les Gentils le rechercheront, et son repos sera glorieux.

 10 ¶ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

11 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, que le Seigneur mettra encore sa main une seconde fois pour reprendre le résidu de son peuple, qui aura été laissé, de l'Assyrie, et de l'Égypte, et de Pathros, et de Cush, et d'Elam, et de Shinar (Shinear), et de Hamath et des îles de la mer.

 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

12 Et il érigera une bannière pour les nations, et assemblera les exilés d'Israël, et réunira les dispersés de Judah des quatre coins de la terre.

 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13 Et la jalousie d'Ephraim (Éphraïm) se retirera, et les adversaires de Judah seront retranchés ; Ephraim (Éphraïm) ne sera plus envieux de Judah, et Judah ne contrariera plus Ephraim (Éphraïm).

 13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

14 Mais ils voleront sur les épaules des Philistins, vers l'Ouest ; ils pilleront ensemble ceux de l'Est ; ils poseront leur main sur Edom et Moab ; et les enfants d'Ammon leur obéiront.

 14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

15 Et le SEIGNEUR détruira complètement la langue de la mer d'Égypte ; et il secouera sa main sur le fleuve, de son vent puissant, et il le frappera en sept ruisseaux, et fera traverser les hommes à pied sec.

 15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.

16 Et il y aura une grande route pour le résidu de son peuple, qui sera resté, de l'Assyrie, comme cela était pour Israël au jour qu'il remonta du pays d'Égypte.

 16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
