1 Malheur au pays ombrageant avec des ailes, qui est au-delà des fleuves d'Éthiopie,
|
1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
|
2 Qui envoie par mer des ambassadeurs, précisément dans des bateaux faits de roseaux, sur les eaux, disant : Allez, messagers rapides, vers la nation éparpillée et ravagée, vers un peuple redoutable depuis le commencement jusqu'à maintenant, une nation alignée et piétinée, les fleuves de laquelle ont pillé le pays.

2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

3 Vous, tous les habitants du monde, et vous qui demeurez sur la terre, regardez, quand il érige l'étendard sur les montagnes ; et quand il sonne la trompette, écoutez.

3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.

4 Car ainsi m'a dit le SEIGNEUR :Je me tiendrai tranquille et je regarderai dans ma demeure, comme une chaleur brillante sur l'herbe, et comme un nuage de rosée dans la chaleur de la moisson.

4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.

5 Car avant la moisson, quand le bouton atteint sa perfection, et que la fleur est une grappe prête à mûrir, il coupera les sarments avec des serpes, et ôtera et retranchera les branches.

5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

6 Ils seront tous ensemble laissés aux oiseaux des montagnes, et aux bêtes de la terre ; et les oiseaux seront sur eux tout le long de l'été, et toutes les bêtes de la terre seront sur eux tout l'hiver.

6 They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
|
7 ¶ En ce temps-là, sera apporté au SEIGNEUR des armées le présent, d'un peuple éparpillé et ravagé, et d'un peuple redoutable depuis le commencement jusqu'à maintenant ; une nation alignée et piétinée, les fleuves de laquelle ont pillé le pays, vers le lieu du nom du SEIGNEUR des armées, le mont Zion (Sion).

7 ¶ In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
