1 L'année en laquelle Tharthan vint à Ashdod, (lorsque Sargon, roi d'Assyrie l'envoya), et combattit contre Ashdod et la prit ;

1 In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
|
2 À ce moment-là, le SEIGNEUR parla par Isaiah (Ésaïe), le fils d'Amoz (Amots), disant : Va, et délie le sac de tes reins, et déchausse tes souliers de tes pieds. Et il fit ainsi, marchant nu et nu-pieds.

2 At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

3 Et le SEIGNEUR dit : Comme mon serviteur Isaiah (Ésaïe) a marché nu et nu-pieds trois années, pour être un signe et prodige sur l'Égypte et sur l'Éthiopie
|
3 And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
|
4 Ainsi le roi d'Assyrie emmènera les prisonniers Égyptiens et les Éthiopiens captifs, jeunes et vieux, nus et nu-pieds, les hanches découvertes, à la honte de l'Égypte.

4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

5 Et ils auront peur et seront honteux à cause de l'Éthiopie, leur espérance, et de l'Égypte, leur gloire.
|
5 And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
|
6 Et l'habitant de cette île-ci dira, en ce jour-là. Voilà, telle est notre espérance, vers qui nous courions chercher du secours, pour être délivrés du roi d'Assyrie ; Et comment échapperons-nous ?

6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
