1 La charge de la vallée de vision. Qu'as-tu maintenant, que tu sois tout entière montée sur les toits ?

 1 The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

2 Toi qui es pleine de mouvement, une ville bruyante, une ville joyeuse ; tes hommes morts n'ont pas été tués par l'épée, et ne sont pas morts au champ de bataille.

 2 Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.

3 Tous tes dirigeants se sont enfuis ensemble, ils sont faits prisonniers par les archers ; tous ceux des siens qui sont trouvés sont liés ensemble, quand ils s'enfuyaient au loin.

 3 All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.

4 C'est pourquoi j'ai dit : Détournez-vous de moi ; je pleurerai amèrement, ne vous donnez pas de la peine pour me consoler à cause de la ruine de la fille de mon peuple.

 4 Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

5 Car c'est un jour de trouble, d'écrasement et de perplexité de la part du Seigneur DIEU des armées, dans la vallée de vision, démolissant la muraille, et criant vers la montagne.

 5 For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.

6 Et Élam porte le carquois, avec des chariots chargés d'hommes et des cavaliers ; Kir a découvert le bouclier.

 6 And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.

7 Et il arrivera que tes vallées, les meilleures seront remplies de chariots, et les cavaliers se rangeront en bataille à la porte.

 7 And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

8 ¶ Et il a découvert la couverture de Judah, et tu as regardé en ce jour-là vers l'arsenal de la maison de la forêt.

 8 ¶ And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.

9 Vous avez vu aussi les brèches de la ville de David, qu'elles sont nombreuses ; et vous avez recueilli les eaux de l'étang inférieur ;

 9 Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

10 Et vous avez compté les maisons de Jérusalem, et vous avez démoli les maisons pour fortifier la muraille ;

 10 And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall.

11 Vous avez aussi fait un fossé entre les deux murailles pour l'eau du vieil étang ; mais vous n'avez pas regardé vers le faiseur de cela, et vous n'avez pas d'égard non plus vers celui qui l'a façonné il y a longtemps.

 11 Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.

12 Et en ce jour-là le Seigneur DIEU des armées, appela à pleurer, et à prendre le deuil, à raser la tête et à ceindre le sac ;

 12 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:

13 Et voici joie et liesse, on tue des bœufs, on égorge des moutons, on mange de la chair, et on boit du vin ; mangeons et buvons, car demain nous mourrons.

 13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.

14 Et il a été révélé à mes oreilles par le SEIGNEUR des armées Certainement cette iniquité ne vous sera purgée jusqu'à ce que vous mouriez, dit le Seigneur DIEU des armées.

 14 And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

15 ¶Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU des armées : Va, entre chez ce trésorier, c'est-à-dire, chez Shebna, qui est établi sur la maison et dit :

 15 ¶ Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,

16 Qu'as-tu à faire ici ? et qui as-tu ici, que tu te sois taillé un sépulcre ici, comme celui qui se taille un sépulcre sur la hauteur et qui se creuse une habitation dans un roc ?

 16 What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?

17 Voici, le SEIGNEUR t'emmènera loin par une captivité puissante et te couvrira certainement.

 17 Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.

18 Il te fera certainement tourné et retourner violemment comme une boule dans un pays spacieux ; là tu mourras, là les chariots de ta gloire seront la honte de la maison de ton seigneur.

 18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.

19 Et je te chasserai de ton rang, et l'on te déposera de ta charge.

 19 And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.

20 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, que j'appellerai mon serviteur Eliakim, le fils de Hilkiah ;

 20 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:

21 Et je le vêtirai de ta robe, et le fortifierai avec ton ceinturon, et je mettrai ton gouvernement en sa main, et il sera un père pour les habitants de Jérusalem et pour la maison de Judah.

 21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

22 Je mettrai sur son épaule la clé de la maison de David ; ainsi il ouvrira, et personne ne fermera ; et il fermera, et personne n'ouvrira.

 22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

23 Et je le fixerai comme un clou dans un lieu sûr ; et il sera pour un trône de gloire pour la maison de son père.

 23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.

24 Et ils pendront sur lui toute la gloire de la maison de son père, la descendance et la postérité, tous les ustensiles des plus petites choses, depuis les ustensiles des tasses jusqu'a tous les ustensiles des burettes.

 24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

25 En ce jour-là, dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, le clou qui est fixé dans le lieu sûr sera ôté, et sera coupé, et tombera, et la charge qui était dessus sera coupée, car le SEIGNEUR a parlé.

 25 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
