1 Voici mon serviteur, que je maintiens, mon élu, en qui mon âme prend plaisir ; J'ai mis mon esprit sur lui ; il exécutera le jugement aux Gentils.

 1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

2 Il ne criera pas, et ne haussera, ni ne fera entendre sa voix dans la rue.

 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

3 Il ne brisera pas le roseau plié, et n'éteindra pas le lin fumant ; il exécutera jugement selon la vérité.

 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

4 Il n'échouera ni ne sera découragé, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait établi le jugement sur la terre ; et les îles attendront pour sa loi.

 4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

5 ¶ Ainsi dit Dieu, le SEIGNEUR, lui qui a créé les cieux et les a déployés, lui qui a étendu la terre et ce qui en sort ; lui qui donne la respiration au peuple qui est sur elle, et l'esprit à ceux qui y marchent.

 5 ¶ Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

6 Moi, le SEIGNEUR t'ai appelé en rectitude, et je tiendrai ta main, et te garderai et te donnerai pour être une alliance du peuple, pour une lumière des Gentils ;

 6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

7 Pour ouvrir les yeux aveugles, pour faire sortir de prison les prisonniers, et hors du cachot ceux qui sont assis dans l'obscurité.

 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

8 Je suis le SEIGNEUR ; c'est mon nom, et je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre, ni ma louange aux images taillées.

 8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

9 Voici, les choses précédentes sont arrivées, et je déclare de nouvelles choses ; et je vous les dis avant qu'elles surgissent.

 9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

10 Chantez au SEIGNEUR un nouveau cantique, et sa louange du bout de la terre, vous qui allez sur la mer, et tout ce qui est en elle, les îles et leurs habitants.

 10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

11 Que le désert et ses villes élèvent leur voix, les villages où Kedar habite, que les habitants du roc chantent, qu'ils crient du sommet des montagnes.

 11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

12 Qu'ils rendent gloire au SEIGNEUR, et déclarent sa louange dans les îles.

 12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

13 Le SEIGNEUR sortira comme un homme puissant, il excitera sa jalousie comme un homme de guerre ; il criera, oui, il rugira ; il prévaudra contre ses ennemis.

 13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

14 Je me suis tu depuis longtemps ; je me suis tenu tranquille, et je me suis retenu ; maintenant je crierai comme une femme en travail ; je détruirai et j'engloutirai tout ensemble.

 14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

15 Je dévasterai montagnes et collines, et je dessécherai toute leur verdure ; et je réduirai les fleuves en îles, et je dessécherai les étangs.

 15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

16 Et je ferai marcher les aveugles par un chemin qu'ils ne connaissaient pas ; je les conduirai par des sentiers qu'ils n'ont pas connus ; je changerai l'obscurité en lumière devant eux, et les choses tortueuses en choses droites. Je leur ferai ces choses, et ne les abandonnerai pas.

 16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

17 ¶ Ils reculeront, ils seront fort honteux, ceux qui se confient aux images taillées, qui disent aux images fondues : Vous êtes nos dieux.

 17 ¶ They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

18 Entendez, vous les sourds, et regardez, vous les aveugles, afin que vous puissiez voir.

 18 Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.

19 Qui est aveugle sinon mon serviteur ? et sourd comme mon messager que j’ai envoyé ? Qui est aveugle comme celui qui est parfait, et aveugle comme le serviteur du SEIGNEUR ?

 19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD’S servant?

20 Voyant beaucoup de choses, mais tu ne remarque pas ; ouvrant les oreilles, mais il n'entend pas.

 20 Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

21 Le SEIGNEUR est comblé à cause de sa rectitude, il magnifiera la loi et la rendra honorable.

 21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

22 Mais c’est un peuple pillé et dépouillé ; ils sont tous pris au piège dans des cavernes et ils sont cachés dans des cachots ; ils sont une proie, et nul ne les délivre ; un butin, et nul ne dit : Restituez.

 22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

23 Qui parmi vous prêtera l'oreille à ceci ? Qui écoutera et entendra dorénavant ?

 23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?

24 Qui a donné Jacob en butin, et Israël aux voleurs ? N'est-ce pas le SEIGNEUR, celui contre qui nous avons péché ? Car ils n'ont pas voulu marcher dans ses chemins, et ils n'ont pas non plus obéi à sa loi.

 24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.

25 C'est pourquoi il a répandu sur lui la fureur de son courroux et la puissance de la bataille ; laquelle l'a embrasé de toutes parts, cependant il ne l'a pas reconnu ; et elle l'a brûlé, cependant il ne l'a pas pris à cœur.

 25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
