1 Bel se cpurbe, Nébo s'abaisse, leurs idoles ont été mises sur les bêtes et sur le bétail ; vos charrettes étaient lourdement chargées ; elles sont un fardeau pour la bête fatiguée.

1 Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.
|
2 Ils s'abaissent, ils se courbent ensemble, ils ne peuvaient livrer le fardeau , mais eux-mêmes sont partis en captivité.
|
2 They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.
|
3 Écoutez-moi, ô maison de Jacob, et vous tout le résidu de la maison d'Israël, dont je me suis chargé dès le ventre, qui avez été portés dès l’utérus.
|
3 ¶ Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
|
4 Et même jusqu’à votre vieillesse je suis ; et même je vous porterai jusqu’aux cheveux blancs ; je l’ai fait, et je porterai ; même je vous soutiendrai, et vous élivrerai.
|
4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
|
5 ¶ À qui me ferez-vous ressembler, et m'égalerez-vous, et me comparerez-vous, pour que nous soyons semblables ?
|
5 ¶ To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
|
6 Ils prodiguent l'or de leur bourse et pèsent l'argent à la balance et engagent un orfèvre, et il en fait un dieu ; ils tombent à terre, oui, ils l'adorent.
|
6 They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
|
7 Ils le chargent sur l'épaule, ils le portent, ils le posent en sa place, et il se tient debout ; il ne sera pas déplacé de son lieu, oui, l’un crie après lui, mais il ne peut répondre, ni le sauver de sa détresse.
|
7 They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
|
8 Souvenez-vous de cela, et montrez-vous des hommes ; rappelez-le à votre pensée, O vous transgresseurs.
|
8 Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
|
9 Souvenez-vous des choses précédentes d'autre fois ; car je suis Dieu, et il n'y en a pas d'autre ; je suis Dieu, et il n'y en a pas comme moi,
|
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
|
10 Déclarant la fin depuis le commencement, et depuis les temps anciens les choses qui ne aont pas encore faites, disant : Mon conseil tiendra, et je ferai tout mon bon plaisir.

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

11 Appelant de l'Est un oiseau de proie, l'homme qui exécute mon conseil d'un pays lointain. Oui, je l'ai dit, je l'amènerai à exécution ; je l’ai décidé, et je le ferai.
|
11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
|
12 ¶ Écoutez-moi, vous au cœur endurci, qui êtes loin de la rectitude :
|
12 ¶ Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:
|
13 Je fais approcher ma rectitude, elle ne sera pas loin, et mon salut ne tardera pas ; je mettrai le salut en Zion (Sion) pour Israël ma gloire.
|
13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
