1 Écouttez-moi, vous qui suivez la rectitude, vous qui cherchez le SEIGNEUR ; regardez au roc duquel vous avez été taillés, et au trou de la fosse duquel vous avez été tirés.

 1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

2 Regardez à Abraham, votre père, et à Sarah qui vous a enfantés ; car je l'ai appelé seul, et je l'ai béni et l'ai multiplié.

 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

3 Ainsi le SEIGNEUR consolera Zion, il consolera tous ses lieux dévastés ; et il fera de son désert un Éden, et de son lieu aride comme le jardin du SEIGNEUR ; en elle sera trouvée joie et liesse, reconnaissance et la voix de mélodie.

 3 For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

4 ¶ Écoute-moi , mon peuple ; et prête-moi l’oreille, vous, ô ma nation car une loi procédera de moi, et j'établirai mon jugement pour demeurer une lumière des peuples.

 4 ¶ Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

5 Ma rectitude est proche, mon salut est sorti, et mes bras jugeront les peuples ; les îles compteront sur moi, et elles se confieront en mon bras.

 5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.

6 Élevez vos yeux vers les cieux, et regardez vers la terre ; car les cieux s'évanouiront comme la fumée, et la terre sera usée comme un vêtement, et ceux qui y demeurent mourront pareillement ; mais mon salut demeurera pour toujours, et ma rectitude ne sera pas abolie.

 6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

7 ¶ Ecoutez-moi, vous qui connaissez la rectitude,le peuple dans le cœur duquel est ma loi ; n'ayez pas peur du blâme des hommes, et ne soyez pas effrayés de leurs injures.

 7 ¶ Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

8 Car la mite les rongera comme un vêtement, et le ver les rongera comme la laine ; mais ma rectitude demeurera à toujours, et mon salut de génération en génération.

 8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

9 ¶ Réveille-toi, réveille-toi ! Revêts-toi de vigueur, ô bras du SEIGNEUR ; réveille-toi comme aux jours anciens, comme aux générations passées. N'est-ce pas toi qui mis en pièces Rahab, et tu as blessé le dragon ?

 9 ¶ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

10 N'est-ce pas toi qui as desséché la mer, les eaux du grand abîme ; qui as fait des profondeurs de la mer un chemin pour y faire passer les rançonnés ?

 10 Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

11 C'est pourquoi les rachetés du SEIGNEUR retourneront, et viendront en chantant à Zion (Sion) ; et une joie éternelle sera sur leurs têtes ; ils obtiendront allégresse et joie ; et la souffrance et le deuil s'enfuiront.

 11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

12 Moi, c'est-à-dire moi, suis celui qui vous console ; qui es-tu, que tu aies peur de l'homme qui mourra, et du fils de l'homme qui deviendra comme l'herbe ;

 12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

13 Et que tu oublies le SEIGNEUR, ton créateur, qui a étendu les cieux et placé les fondements de la terre ; et tu t'es chaque jour continuellement effrayé, à cause de la fureur de l'oppresseur, comme s'il était prêt à détruire ? et où est la fureur de l'oppresseur ?

 13 And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

14 Le captif exilé se hâte afin qu'il soit mis en liberté, afin qu'il ne meure pas dans la fosse, et que son pain ne lui manque pas.

 14 The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.

15 Mais je suis le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, qui a séparé la mer, dont les vagues mugissent ; le SEIGNEUR des armées est son nom.

 15 But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.

16 Or j'ai mis mes paroles dans ta bouche, et je t'ai couvert dans l'ombre de ma main, afin que je puisse établir les cieux et placer les fondements de la terre, et pour dire à Zion (Sion) : Tu es mon peuple.

 16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

17 ¶ Réveille-toi, réveille-toi ; lève-toi, ô Jérusalem, qui as bu de la main du SEIGNEUR la coupe de sa fureur, tu as bu la lie de la coupe d'ébranlement et l'as vidée.

 17 ¶ Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.

18 Il n'y a aucun de tous les fils qu'elle a enfantés pour la guider ; il n'y en a pas un qui la prenne par la main de tous les fils qu'elle a élevés.

 18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.

19 Ces deux choses te sont arrivées ; qui te plaindra ? la désolation et la destruction, et la famine et l'épée ; par qui te consolerai-je ?

 19 These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?

20 Tes fils ont défaillis, ils sont étendus couchés à tous les carrefours des rues, comme un bœuf sauvage pris dans un filet ; ils sont remplis de la fureur du SEIGNEUR et de la réprimande de ton Dieu.

 20 Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.

21 ¶ C'est pourquoi, entend maintenant ceci, toi affligée, et ivre mais non pas de vin

 21 ¶ Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:

22 Ainsi dit ton Seigneur le SEIGNEUR, et ton Dieu, qui plaide la cause de son peuple : Voici j'ai pris de ta main la coupe d’ébranlement, la lie même de la coupe de ma fureur ; tu n'en boiras plus désormais.

 22 Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

23 Et je la mettrai dans la main de ceux qui t'affligent, et qui ont dit à ton âme : Courbe-toi, afin que nous passions ; et tu as étendu ton corps comme le sol, et comme une rue pour passer dessus.

 23 But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
