1 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : Le ciel est mon trône, et la terre est mon marchepied où est la maison que vous me bâtiriez ? et où est le lieu de mon repos ?

 1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

2 Car toutes ces choses, ma main les a faites, et toutes ces choses ont eu leur être, dit le SEIGNEUR. Mais à qui regarderai-je, à celui qui est pauvre, et qui est d'un esprit repentant, et qui tremble à ma parole.

 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

3 Celui qui égorge un bœuf est comme s'il tuait un homme ; celui qui sacrifie une brebis, comme s'il coupait le cou à un chien ; celui qui offre une oblation, comme s'il offrait le sang d'un pourceau ; celui qui brûle de l'encens, comme s'il bénissait une idole. Oui, ils ont choisi leurs propres chemins et leur âme prend plaisir en leurs abominations,

 3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

4 Moi aussi, je choisirai leurs illusions, et je ferai venir sur eux ce qu'ils craignent ; parce que lorsque j'ai appelé, personne n'a répondu, lorsque j'ai parlé, ils n'ont pas entendu, mais ils ont fait ce qui est mal à mes yeux, et ils ont choisi ce en quoi je ne prends pas plaisir.

 4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

5 ¶ Entendez la parole du SEIGNEUR, vous qui tremblez à sa parole vos frères qui vous haïssent, qui vous rejettent, à cause de mon nom, disaient : Que le SEIGNEUR soit glorifié ; mais il apparaîtra à votre joie, et ils seront honteux.

 5 ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

6 Une voix de fracas vient de la ville, une voix vient du temple, la voix du SEIGNEUR, qui rend la récompense à ses ennemis.

 6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

7 Avant qu'elle ait été en travail, elle a enfanté ; avant que les douleurs arrivent, elle a mis au monde un enfant mâle.

 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

8 Qui a entendu pareille chose ? Qui a vu de telles choses ? Fera-t-on enfanté la terre en un seul jour ? ou une nation naîtrait-elle tout d'un coup ? Car dès que Zion (Sion) a été en travail, elle a enfanté ses enfants.

 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

9 Amènerais-je jusqu'à la naissance, et ne ferais-je pas naître ? dit le SEIGNEUR. Ferais-je enfanter, et fermer l’utérus ? dit ton Dieu.

 9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

10 Réjouissez-vous avec Jérusalem, soyez heureux avec elle, vous tous qui l'aimez ; réjouissez-vous avec elle d'une grande joie, vous tous qui meniez deuil sur elle.

 10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

11 Afin que vous tétiez et soyez rassasiés par les seins de ses consolations ; afin que vous suciez le lait, et que vous vous délectiez de l'abondance de sa gloire.

 11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

12 Car ainsi dit le Seigneur : Voici, j'étendrai vers elle la paix comme une rivière, et la gloire des Gentils comme un courant d'eau ; alors vous téterez, et vous serez portés sur ses côtés, et serez dorlotés sur ses genoux.

 12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

13 Comme quelqu'un que sa mère console, ainsi je vous consolerai, et vous serez consolés dans Jérusalem.

 13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

14 Et lorsque vous verrez ceci, votre cœur se réjouira, et vos os prospèreront comme une plante ; et la main du SEIGNEUR sera connue envers ses serviteurs, et son indignation envers ses ennemis.

 14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

15 Car voici, le SEIGNEUR viendra avec le feu, et avec ses chariots comme un tourbillon, pour rendre son courroux avec fureur, et sa réprimande avec des flammes de feu.

 15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16 Car par le feu et par son épée le SEIGNEUR plaidera avec toute chair ; et les tués du SEIGNEUR seront en grand nombre.

 16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

17 Ceux qui se sanctifient et qui se purifient, derrière un arbre au milieu des jardins, mangeant de la chair de pourceau, et de l'abomination, et de la souris, seront consumés ensemble, dit le SEIGNEUR.

 17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

18 Car je connais leurs œuvres et leurs pensées ; il arrivera, que je rassemblerai toutes les nations et les langues ; et elles viendront, et verront ma gloire.

 18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

19 Et je mettrai un signe parmi eux, et j'enverrai ceux d'entre eux qui se seront échappés vers les nations, à Tarshish (Tarsis), Pul et Lud, qui tirent de l'arc, à Tubal et à Javan, aux îles éloignées, qui n'ont jamais entendu parler de mon nom et n'ont pas vu ma gloire ; et ils déclareront ma gloire parmi les Gentils.

 19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

20 Et ils amèneront tous vos frères, d'entre toutes les nations, pour une offrande au SEIGNEUR, sur des chevaux, sur des chariots, dans des litières, sur des mulets, sur des bêtes rapides, à ma sainte montagne, Jérusalem, dit le SEIGNEUR, comme les enfants d'Israël apportent l'offrande, dans un récipient pur à la maison du SEIGNEUR.

 20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.

21 Et j'en prendrai aussi parmi eux pour prêtres et pour lévites, dit le SEIGNEUR.

 21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.

22 Car, comme les nouveaux cieux et la nouvelle terre que je ferai subsisteront devant moi, dit le SEIGNEUR, ainsi subsisteront votre semence et votre nom.

 22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

23 Et il arrivera, que d'une nouvelle lune à l'autre, et d'un shabbat à l'autre, toute chair viendra devant moi pour m'adorer, dit le SEIGNEUR.

 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

24 Et ils sortiront, et verront les cadavres des hommes qui ont transgressé contre moi ; car leur ver ne mourra pas, leur feu ne s'éteindra pas, et ils seront en horreur pour toute chair.

 24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
