1 En la neuvième année de Zedekiah (Sédécias), roi de Juda, au dixième mois, Nebuchadrezzar (Nebuchadnezzar), roi de Babylone, vint, avec toute son armée, contre Jérusalem, et ils l’assiégèrent.

 1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

2 Et en la onzième année de Zedekiah (Sédécias), au quatrième mois, le neuvième jour du mois, la ville fut percée.

 2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.

3 Tous les princes du roi de Babylone y entrèrent, et s’assirent à la porte du milieu, c’est-à-dire Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, et tout le reste des princes du roi de Babylone.

 3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.

4 ¶ Or il arriva que, lorsque Zedekiah (Sédécias), le roi de Juda, et tous les hommes de guerre les virent, ils s’enfuirent, et sortirent de la ville de nuit, par le chemin du jardin du roi, par la porte entre les deux murailles. et ils s’en allaient par le chemin de la plaine.

 4 ¶ And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

5 Mais l’armée des Chaldéens les poursuivit, et ils atteignirent Zedekiah (Sédécias) dans les plaines de Jéricho ; et,lorsqu'ils le prirent, ils l’amenèrent vers Nebuchadnezzar, roi de Babylone, à Riblah, dans le pays de Hamath, où il lui proféra jugement contre lui.

 5 But the Chaldeans’ army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

6 Et le roi de Babylone égorgea les fils de Zedekiah (Sédécias) à Riblah devant ses yeux ; le roi de Babylone égorgea tous les nobles de Juda .

 6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.

7 Puis il creva les yeux à Zedekiah (Sédécias), et le lia avec chaînes, pour l’emmener à Babylone .

 7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.

8 ¶ Les Chaldéens brûlèrent aussi par le feu la maison du roi et les maisons du peuple, et ils démolirent les murailles de Jérusalem.

 8 ¶ And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.

9 Puis Nebuzaradan, le capitaine des gardes, emmena en captivité à Babylone le reste du peuple qui était resté dans la ville, et ceux qui s’étaient rendus à lui, ainsi que le reste du peuple restant.

 9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.

10 Mais Nebuzaradan, le capitaine des gardes, laissa parmi le peuple les plus pauvres qui n’avaient rien dans le pays de Juda, et il leur donna des vignes et des champs en même temps.

 10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

11 ¶ Or Nebuchadnezzar, roi de Babylone, avait donné ordre à Nebuzaradan, le capitaine des gardes, au sujet de Jeremiah (Jérémie), en disant :

 11 ¶ Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,

12 Prends-le, et prends bien garde à lui, et ne lui fais aucun mal ; mais fais pour lui comme il te le dira.

 12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.

13 Ainsi Nebuzaradan, le capitaine des gardes, envoya, et Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, et tous les princes du roi de Babylone,

 13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon’s princes;

14 Ils envoyèrent donc et retirèrent Jeremiah (Jérémie) de la cour de la prison, et le remirent à Gedaliah, le fils d’Ahikam, le fils de Shaphan, pour le conduire chez lui ; ainsi il demeura au milieu du peuple.

 14 Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.

15 ¶ La parole du SEIGNEUR vint à Jeremiah (Jérémie), pendant qu’il était enfermé dans la cour de la prison, disant :

 15 ¶ Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

16 Va, et parle à Ebedmelech, l’Éthiopien, disant : Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, le Dieu d’Israël : Voici je vais faire venir sur cette ville en mal, et non en bien, et elles seront accomplies en ce jour-là, devant toi

 16 Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.

17 Mais je te délivrerai en ce jour-là, dit le SEIGNEUR, et tu ne seras pas livré en la main des hommes dont tu as peur.

 17 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.

18 Car certainement je te délivrerai, et tu ne tomberas pas par l’épée, mais ta vie te sera pour butin, parce que tu as eu confiance en moi, dit le SEIGNEUR

 18 For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.
