1 Or Joshua (Josué) était vieux et avancé en âge ; et le SEIGNEUR lui dit : Tu es devenu vieux, et avancé en âge, et il reste encore beaucoup de terre à posséder.

 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

2 C’est ici la terre qui reste encore: Tous les limites des Philistins, et tout Geshuri (Guésuri),

 2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

3 Depuis Sihor, qui est devant l’Égypte, même jusqu’aux limites d’Ekron, vers le nord ; qui est considéré appartenir aux Canaanites (Cananéens) : cinq seigneurs des Philistins, les Gazathites, et les Ashdothites, les Eshkalonites, les Gittites et les Ekronites, et les Avites (Avviens) ;

 3 From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:

4 Depuis le sud, toute la terre des Canaanites (Cananéens) et Mearah, qui est près des Sidoniens, jusqu’à Aphek, jusqu’aux limites des Amorites (Amoréens) ;

 4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:

5 Et la terre des Giblites (Guibliens), et tout le Liban, vers le soleil levant, depuis Baalgad, sous le mont Hermon, jusqu’à l’entrée de Hamath ;

 5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.

6 Tous les habitants du pays montagneux, depuis le Liban jusqu’à Misrephothmaim (Misrephoth-Maïm), et tous les Sidoniens, je les chasserai moi-même devant les enfants d’Israël ; seulement divise-le par lot en héritage aux Israélites, comme je te l’ai commandé.

 6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

7 Maintenant donc divise cette terre en héritage aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu de Manasseh (Manassé),

 7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

8 Avec laquelle les Reubenites et les Gadites ont reçu leur héritage, que Moïse leur a donné au delà du Jourdain, vers l’Est, savoir comme Moïse le serviteur du SEIGNEUR, leur a donné ;

 8 With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them;

9 Depuis Aroer, qui est sur le bord de la rivière Arnon, et la ville qui est au milieu de la rivière, et toute la plaine de Medeba jusqu’à Dibon ;

 9 From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;

10 Et toutes les villes de Sihon, roi des Amorites, qui régnait à Heshbon (Hesbon), jusqu’à la frontière des enfants d’Ammon ;

 10 And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;

11 Et Gilead (Galaad), et la frontière des Geshurites et des Maachathites, et tout le mont Hermon, et tout Bashan, jusqu’à Salcah ;

 11 And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

12 Tout le royaume d’Og, en Bashan, lequel régnait à Ashtaroth et à Edrei, qui était demeuré du reste des géants, lesquels rois Moïse frappa, et les déposséda.

 12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.

13 Néanmoins les enfants d’Israël n’expulsèrent pas les Geshurites (Gueshuriens) ni les Maachathites (Maacathiens) ; et les Geshurites et les Maachathites demeurent au milieu d’Israël jusqu’à ce jour.

 13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.

14 Seulement il ne donna aucun héritage à la tribu de Levi (Lévi) ; les sacrifices du SEIGNEUR Dieu d’Israël, faits par le feu sont son héritage, comme il le lui avait dit.

 14 Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

15 ¶ Et Moïse donna à la tribu des enfants de Reuben (Ruben) un héritage, selon leurs familles ;

 15 ¶ And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.

16 Et leur territoire était depuis Aroer, qui est sur le bord de la rivière Arnon, et la ville qui est au milieu de la rivière, et toute la plaine près de Medeba,

 16 And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;

17 Heshbon (Hesbon) et toutes ses villes, qui sont dans la plaine, Dibon, et Bamothbaal, et Bethbaalmeon (Beth‑Baal‑Meon),

 17 Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon,

18 Et Jahaza, et Kedemoth, et Mephaath,

 18 And Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

19 Et Kirjathaim, et Sibmah, et Zarethshahar, sur le mont de la vallée,

 19 And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley,

20 Et Bethpeor, et Ashdothpisgah, et Bethjeshimoth.

 20 And Bethpeor, and Ashdothpisgah, and Bethjeshimoth,

21 Et toutes les villes de la plaine, et tout le royaume de Sihon, roi des Amorites (Amoréens) qui régnait à Heshbon (Hesbon), lequel Moïse frappa, avec les princes de Midian (Madian)), Evi, et Rekem, et Zur (Tsur), et Hur, et Reba, princes qui étaient ducs de Sihon, demeurant dans le pays.

 21 And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country.

22 ¶ Les enfants d’Israël tuèrent aussi par l’épée Balaam, fils de Beor, le devin, parmi ceux qui furent tués par eux.

 22 ¶ Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

23 Et la frontière des enfants de Reuben (Ruben) fut le Jourdain et sa rive. Cela était l’héritage des enfants de Reuben (Ruben), selon leurs familles, les villes et leurs villages.

 23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

24 Et Moïse donna un héritage à la tribu de Gad, savoir aux enfants de Gad, selon leurs familles.

 24 And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

25 Et leur territoire était Jazer, et toutes les villes de Gilead (Galaad), et la moitié du pays des enfants d’Ammon, jusqu’à Aroer, qui est devant Rabbah,

 25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

26 Et depuis Heshbon (Hesbon) jusqu’à Ramathmizpeh et Betonim, et depuis Mahanaim jusqu’à la frontière de Debir ;

 26 And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

27 Et, dans la vallée, Betharam, Bethnimrahh, et Succoth et Zaphon, le reste du royaume de Sihon, roi de Heshbon (Hesbon), le Jourdain et sa rive, savoir jusqu’au bout de la mer de Chinnereth (Kinnereth), au delà du Jourdain, vers l’Est.

 27 And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward.

28 C’est ici l’héritage des enfants de Gad, selon leurs familles ; les villes et leurs villages.

 28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

29 ¶ Et Moïse donna un héritage à la demi-tribu de Manasseh (Manassé), et ceci était la possession de la demi-tribu des enfants de Manasseh (Manassé), selon leurs familles.

 29 ¶ And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

30 Et leur territoire était depuis Mahanaim, tout Bashan, tout le royaume d’Og, roi de Bashan, et tous les bourgs de Jair qui sont en Bashan, soixante villes ;

 30 And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities:

31 Et la moitié de Gilead (Galaad), et Ashtaroth et Edrei, villes du royaume d’Og en Bashan, appartenant aux enfants de Machir (Makir), le fils de Manasseh (Manassé), savoir à la moitié des enfants de Machir (Makir), selon leurs familles.

 31 And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

32 Ce sont là les contrées que Moïse distribua en héritage dans les plaines de Moab, au-delà du Jourdain de Jéricho, vers l’Est.

 32 These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.

33 Mais Moïse ne donna aucun héritage à la tribu de Levi (Lévi) ; le SEIGNEUR Dieu d’Israël, était leur héritage, comme il le leur avait dit.

 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LORD God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
