1 C’est ici le lot de la tribu des enfants de Judah (Juda), selon leurs familles ; savoir jusqu’à la frontière d’Edom, le désert de Zin (Tsin), vers le Sud, était la partie la plus reculée du territoire sud.

 1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

2 Et leur frontière sud était depuis le bord de la mer Salée, depuis la baie qui regarde vers le Sud ;

 2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

3 Et elle sortait vers le côté sud de Maalehacrabbim, et passait vers Zin (Tsin), et montait du côté sud de Kadeshbarnea (Kadès‑Barnéa), et passait le long vers Hezron 9 Hetsron), et montait vers Adar, et tournait vers Karkaa,

 3 And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

4 De là elle passait vers Azmon (Atsmon), et sortait à la rivière d’Égypte ; et le contour de ce territoire aboutissait à la mer ; cela sera votre territoire au sud.

 4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

5 Et la frontière est était la Mer salée, savoir jusqu’à l’embouchure du Jourdain. Et la frontière du canton nord était depuis la baie de la mer à la partie la plus reculée du Jourdain.

 5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

6 Et la frontière montait à Bethhogla (Beth‑Hogla), et passait le long au nord de Betharabah (Beth-Araba) ; et la frontière montait à la pierre de Bohan, le fils de Reuben (Ruben).

 6 And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

7 Et la frontière montait vers Debir, depuis la vallée d’Achor (Acor), et ainsi vers leNord, regardant vers Gilgal (Guilgal), qui est devant la montée d’Adummim, qui est du côté sud de la rivière ; et la frontière passait vers les eaux d’Enshemesh et aboutissait à Enrogel (En-Roguel).

 7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:

8 Et la frontière montait par la vallée du fils de Hinnom, vers le côté sud de Jebusite, qui est Jérusalem ; et la frontière montait au sommet de la montagne qui est en face de la vallée de Hinnom, vers l’Ouest, qui est au bout de la vallée des géants, au nord ;

 8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

9 Et la frontière fut tracée depuis le sommet de la colline jusqu’à la source des eaux de Nephtoah, et sortait vers les villes du mont Ephron ; et la frontière fut tracée à Baalah, qui est Kirjathjearim (Kiriath-Jéarim).

 9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:

10 Et la frontière encerclait depuis Baalah à l’ouest vers le mont Seir, et passait le long du côté du mont Jearim qui est Chesalon (Kesalon) du côté nord, et elle descendait à Bethshemesh, et passait à Timnah.

 10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

11 Et la frontière sortait vers le côté d’Ekron, vers le Nord, et la frontière fut tracée vers Shicron, et passait le long du mont Baalah, et sortait à Jabneel ; et la frontière aboutissait à la mer.

 11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

12 Et la frontière ouest était la grande mer et sa côte. C’est le territoire des enfants de Judah (Juda), tout autour, selon leurs familles.

 12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 ¶ Et il donna à Caleb le fils de Jephunneh (Jephunné), une part au milieu des enfants de Judah (Juda), selon le commandement du SEIGNEUR à Joshua (Josué) ; savoir la ville d’Arba le père d’Anak, laquelle ville est Hébron.

 13 ¶ And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

14 Et Caleb en déposséda les trois fils d’Anak : Sheshai, Ahiman et Talmai, les enfants d’Anak.

 14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15 Et de là il monta vers les habitants de Debir ; et le nom de Debir était auparavant Kirjathsepher (Kiriath-Sépher).

 15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

16 ¶ Et Caleb dit : Je donnerai ma fille Achsah (Acsa) pour femme à celui qui frappera Kirjathsepher (Kiriath-Sépher), et la prendra.

 16 ¶ And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

17 Et Othniel le fils de Kenaz, frère de Caleb, la prit ; et il lui donna sa fille Achsah (Acsa ) pour femme.

 17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

18 Et il arriva comme elle venait vers lui, qu’elle l’incita à demander à son père un champ ; elle sauta de son âne ; et Caleb lui dit : Qu’as-tu ?

 18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

19 Et elle répondit : Donne-moi une bénédiction ; car tu m’as donné une terre au sud, donne-moi aussi des sources d’eaux. Et il lui donna les sources supérieures et les sources inférieures.

 19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

20 C’est ici l’héritage de la tribu des enfants de Judah (Juda), selon leurs familles.

 20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 Et les villes les plus reculées de la tribu des enfants de Judah (Juda), vers le territoire d’Edom vers le Sud étaient Kabzeel, Eder, et Jagur,

 21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

22 Et Kinah, et Dimonah, et Adadah,

 22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23 Et Kedesh, et Hazor (Hatsor), et Ithnan,

 23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24 Et Ziph, et Telem, et Bealoth,

25 Et Hazor (Hatsor), Hadattah, et Kerioth, Hezron, qui est Hazor,

45 Et Ekron, et ses villes, et ses villages ;

 45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

46 Depuis Ekron et même jusqu’à la mer, toutes celles qui sont près d’Ashdod (Asdod), et leurs villages ;

 46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

47 Ashdod (Asdod), ses villes, et ses villages ; Gaza, avec ses villes, et ses villages, jusqu’à la rivière d’Égypte, et la Grande mer et sa limite.

 47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

48 ¶ Et dans les montagnes, Shamir, Jattir, et Socoh,

 48 ¶ And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

61 Dans le désert, Betharabah, Middin, et Secacah,

 61 In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,

62 Et Nibshan, et la ville du Sel, et Engedi ; six villes avec leurs villages.

 62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.

63 ¶ Quant aux Jebusites (Jébusiens), les habitants de Jérusalem, les enfants de Judah (Juda) ne purent pas les déposséder ; et les Jebusites (Jébusiens) demeurèrent avec les enfants de Judah (Juda) à Jérusalem jusqu’à ce jour.

 63 ¶ As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
