1 ¶ Mais il prit à Salomon treize ans pour bâtir sa propre maison, et il acheva toute sa maison.

 1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

2 Il bâtit aussi la maison de la forêt du Liban, sa longueur était d’une centaine de coudées, et sa largeur de cinquante coudées, et sa hauteur de trente coudées, sur quatre rangées de colonnes de cèdre, avec des poutres de cèdre sur les colonnes.

 2 ¶ He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

3 Et elle était couverte de cèdre par-dessus les poutres, qui reposaient sur quarante-cinq colonnes, quinze par rangée.

 3 And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.

4 Et il y avait trois rangées de fenêtres, et la lumière faisait face à la lumière par ordre de trois.

 4 And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

5 Et toutes les portes et les montants étaient carrés, avec les fenêtres ; et la lumière faisait face à la lumière par ordre de trois.

 5 And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.

6 Et il fit un porche tout de colonnes, sa longueur était de cinquante coudées, et sa largeur de trente coudées, et le porche était devant les portes ; et les autres colonnes et les grosses poutres étaient devant elles.

 6 ¶ And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.

7 Puis il fit un porche pour le trône, où il jugeait, c’est-à-dire le porche de jugement ; et il était couvert de cèdre, d’un bout du plancher à l’autre.

 7 ¶ Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

8 Et sa maison, où il demeurait, avait une autre cour, à l’intérieur du porche, qui était de construction semblable. Salomon fit aussi pour la fille de Pharaon, qu’il avait prise pour femme, une maison bâtie comme ce porche.

 8 ¶ And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

9 Toutes ces constructions étaient de pierres de prix, selon les mesures des pierres de taille, sciées à la scie en dedans et en dehors, depuis la fondation jusqu’au faîte, et ainsi de suite à l’extérieur jusqu’à la grande cour.

 9 All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

10 Et la fondation était de pierres de prix, de grandes pierres, et même de grandes pierres, des pierres de dix coudées et des pierres de huit coudées.

 10 And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.

11 Et au-dessus étaient des pierres de prix, taillées selon les mesures des pierres de taille, et du cèdre.

 11 And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

12 Et la grande cour était tout entourée de trois rangées de pierres de taille et une rangée de poutres de cèdre, ainsi que la cour intérieure de la maison du SEIGNEUR et le porche de la maison.

 12 And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.

13 ¶ Et le roi Salomon envoya chercher de Tyre (Tyr), Hiram.

 13 ¶ And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

14 Il était fils d’une femme veuve de la tribu de Naphthali et son père était un homme de Tyre (Tyr), un ouvrier en cuivre ; et il était rempli de sagesse, et d’intelligence et adroit pour travailler à toutes sortes d’ouvrages en cuivre, Et il vint vers le roi Salomon, et fit tout son ouvrage.

 14 He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

15 Car il fondit deux colonnes de cuivre. La hauteur de chaque colonne était de dix-huit coudées, et un cordon de douze coudées en mesurait le tour.

 15 For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

16 Il fit aussi deux chapiteaux de cuivre fondu, pour mettre sur le haut des colonnes ; la hauteur de l’un des chapiteaux était de cinq coudées, et la hauteur de l’autre chapiteau était aussi de cinq coudées.

 16 And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:

17 Il y avait des réseaux en façon de damiers, des festons en façon de chaînes, pour les chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes ; sept pour l’un des chapiteaux, et sept pour l’autre.

 17 And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.

18 Et il fit les colonnes avec deux rangs de pommes de grenade sur un réseau, tout autour, pour couvrir l’un des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet d’une des colonnes ; et il fit la même chose pour l’autre chapiteau.

 18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.

19 Et les chapiteaux qui étaient au sommet des colonnes, dans le porche, étaient d’un ouvrage de lis, de quatre coudées.

 19 And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

20 Et les chapiteaux, sur les deux colonnes, avaient aussi des pommes de grenades au-dessus, depuis l’endroit du renflement qui était au-delà du réseau ; et il y avait deux cents pommes de grenades en rangées, tout autour, sur l’autre chapiteau.

 20 And the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter.

21 Et il dressa les colonnes au porche du temple ; et il dressa la colonne de droite, et l’appela du nom de Jachin ; et il dressa la colonne de gauche, et l’appela du nom de Boaz.

 21 And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

22 Et sur le sommet des colonnes était un ouvrage de lis ; ainsi l’ouvrage des colonnes fut achevé.

 22 And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.

23 Et il fit une mer de fonte, de dix coudées d’un bord à l’autre ; elle était ronde tout autour, et sa hauteur était de cinq coudées ; et un cordon de trente coudées l’entourait tout autour.

 23 ¶ And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

24 Et au-dessous de son bord, il y avait tout autour, des pommeaux l’entourant, dix par coudée, entourant tout le tour de la mer ; les pommeaux étaient fondus en deux rangées, fondus dans la fonte.

 24 And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

25 Elle était posée sur douze bœufs, trois regardant vers le Nord, trois regardant vers l’Ouest, trois regardant vers le Sud, et trois regardant vers l’Est ; et la mer était au-dessus d’eux, et toute leur partie arrière était en dedans.

 25 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

26 Son épaisseur était d’une paume, et son bord était comme le bord d’une coupe, en fleurs de lis ; elle contenait deux mille baths.

 26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.

27 Et il fit dix soubassements de cuivre, quatre coudées était la longueur d’un soubassement, et quatre coudées sa largeur, et trois coudées sa hauteur.

 27 ¶ And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.

28 Et l’ouvrage des soubassements était de telle manière : lls avaient des châssis, et les châssis, étaient entre les tenons.

 28 And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:

29 Et sur ces châssis, qui étaient entre les tenons, il y avait des lions, des bœufs et des chérubins ; et sur les tenons il y avait un soubassement au-dessus ; et au-dessous, des lions et des bœufs formaient certains enrichissements de bas-relief.

 29 And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.

30 Et chaque soubassement avait quatre roues brasées et des plaquettes de cuivre ; et ses quatre coins avaient des consoles ; au-dessous de la cuve des consoles fondues, sur le côté de chaque palier.

 30 And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.

31 Et son ouverture, à l’intérieur du chapiteau et au-dessus, était d’une coudée ; mais cette ouverture était arrondie suivant l’ouvrage du soubassement d’une coudée et demie ; et sur son ouverture il y avait aussi des gravures avec leurs châssis,, carrés, non circulaires.

 31 And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.

32 Et sous les châss étaientles quatre roues et les essieux des roues étaient joints au soubassement ; et la hauteur d’une roue était d’une coudée et demie.

 32 And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

33 Et l’ouvrage des roues était comme l’ouvrage d’une roue de chariot ; leurs essieux, et leurs moyeux, et leurs jantes, et leurs rayons, étaient tous de fonte.

 33 And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.

34 Et il y avait quatre consoles aux quatre coins de chaque soubassement ; et les consoles faisaient partie du soubassement même.

 34 And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.

35 Et au sommet du soubassement, il y avait un pourtour d’une demi-coudée de hauteur ; et au sommet du soubassement ses tenons et ses châssis en faisaient partie.

 35 And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.

36 Sur les planchettes de ses tenons et sur ses châssis, il grava des chérubins, des lions et des palmiers, selon la mesure de chacun, et des paliers tout autour.

 36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

37 De cette manière, il fit les dix soubassements : tous étaient d’une même fonte, d’une même mesure et d’une même taille.

 37 After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.

38 Puis il fit dix cuves de cuivre, une cuve contenait quarante baths ; et chaque cuve était de quatre coudées ; et sur chacun des dix soubassements, une cuve.

 38 ¶ Then made he ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths: and every laver was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

39 Et il plaça cinq soubassements sur le côté droit de la maison, et cinq sur le côté gauche de la maison ; et il plaça la mer sur le côté droit de la maison, vers l’Est, du côté sud.

 39 And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south.

40 Et Hiram fit les cuves, et les pelles et les bassins. Ainsi Hiram acheva tout l’ouvrage qu’il fit au roi Salomon pour la maison du SEIGNEUR ;

 40 ¶ And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:

41 Les deux colonnes et les deux globes des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des deux colonnes ; et les deux réseaux pour couvrir les deux globes des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes ;

 41 The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars;

42 Et les quatre cents pommes de grenades pour les deux réseaux, à savoir deux rangs de pommes de grenades par réseau, pour couvrir les deux globes des chapiteaux qui étaient sur les colonnes ;

 42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars;

43 Et les dix soubassements, et les dix cuves sur les soubassements ;

 43 And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;

44 Et une mer, et les douze bœufs sous la mer ;

 44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

45 Et les pots, et les pelles, et les bassins ; et tous ces ustensiles, que Hiram fit au roi Salomon pour la maison du SEIGNEUR, étaient de cuivre brillant.

 45 And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.

46 Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans le sol argileux, entre Succoth et Zarthan.

 46 In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

47 Et Salomon laissa tous les ustensiles sans les peser, parce qu’ils étaient en trop grand nombre ; et on ne rechercha pas le poids du cuivre.

 47 And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.

48 ¶ Et Salomon fit tous les ustensiles qui appartenaient à la maison du SEIGNEUR l’autel d’or, et la table d’or sur laquelle était le pain de présentation ;

 48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was,

49 Et les chandeliers d’or pur, cinq du côté droit et cinq à gauche, devant l’oracle ; et les fleurs et les lampes et les pincettes d’or ;

 49 And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

50 Et les coupes, et les mouchettes, et les bassins, et les cuillers, et les encensoirs d’or pur ; et les gonds d’or pour les portes de la maison intérieure du lieu très-saint, et pour les portes de la maison, c’est-à-dire du temple.

 50 And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple.

51 Ainsi fut achevé tout l’ouvrage que le roi Salomon fit pour la maison du SEIGNEUR. Et Salomon apporta les choses que David, son père, avait consacrées, à savoir l’argent, et l’or et les ustensiles ; il les mit dans les trésors de la maison du SEIGNEUR.

 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.
