1 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse et à Aaron, leur disant :

 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

2 Parlez aux enfants d’Israël, disant : Ce sont ici les bêtes que vous mangerez parmi toutes les bêtes qui sont sur la terre

 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

3 De tout ce qui a le sabot fendu et le pied fourchu, et qui rumine parmi les bêtes, celle-là vous mangerez.

 3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

4 Toutefois, vous ne mangerez pas celles qui ruminent et parmi celles qui ont le sabot divisé, comme le chameau, il rumine, mais il n’a pas le sabot divisé, il vous est souillé.

4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

5 Et le daman, car il rumine, mais il n’a pas le sabot divisé ; il vous est souillé ;

 5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

6 Et le lièvre, car il rumine, mais il n’a pas le sabot divisé ; il vous est souillé ;

 6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

7 Et le porc, bien qu’il ait le sabot divisé et le pied fourchu, cependant il ne rumine pas ; il vous est souillé ;

 7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

8 De leur chair vous ne mangerez pas et vous ne toucherez pas leur carcasse ; ils vous sont souillés.

 8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

9 ¶ Vous mangerez de tous ceux qui sont dans les eaux : Vous mangerez tout ce qui a des nageoires et des écailles, dans les eaux, dans les mers, et dans les rivières ;

 9 ¶ These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10 Et tout ce qui n’a pas de nageoires ni d’écailles, dans les mers et dans les rivières, et de toute chose vivante qui est dans les eaux, elles vous seront une abomination.

 10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11 Elles vous seront donc une abomination ; vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair et vous aurez leurs carcasses en abomination.

 11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

12 Tout ce qui n’a ni nageoires ni d’écailles dans les eaux, cela vous sera une abomination.

 12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

13 ¶ Et ceux-ci sont ceux que vous aurez en abomination parmi les volatiles, on n’en mangera pas, ils sont une abomination : l’aigle, et l’aigle de mer, et l’orfraie,

 13 ¶ And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

14 Et le vautour, et le milan, selon son espèce ;

 14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

15 Tout corbeau ; selon son espèce,

 15 Every raven after his kind;

16 Et le hibou, l’épervier de nuit, et le coucou, et l’épervier, selon son espèce ;

 16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

17 Et la petite chouette, et le cormoran, et le hibou ;

 17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

18 Et le cygne, le pélican, et le faucon ;

 18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

19 Et la cigogne, le héron, selon son espèce ; et la huppe et la chauve-souris.

 19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

20 Tout volatile qui rampe, allant sur quatre pattes, sera une abomination pour vous.

 20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

21 Toutefois vous pourrez manger de tout être rampant qui vole et qui va sur quatre pattes qui a des jambes au-dessus de leurs pieds, pour sauter avec celles-ci sur la terre.

 21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

22 Même de ceux-ci vous pourrez manger la locuste selon son espèce, la locuste chauve selon son espèce, le scarabée  selon son espèce, et le cricket selon son espèce.

 22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

23 Mais toute autre être rampant et volante, qui a quatre pieds, sera une abomination pour vous.

 23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

24 Et par eux vous serez souillés : quiconque touche leur carcasse, sera souillé jusqu’au soir.

 24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

25 Et quiconque aussi portera leur carcasse, lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu’au soir.

 25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

26 Les carcasses de toute bête qui a le sabot divisé, et qui n’a pas le pied fourchu et ne rumine pas, vous seront souillées ; quiconque les touchent sera souillé.

 26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

27 Et tout ce qui marche sur ses pattes, parmi toutes les sortes de bêtes qui marchent sur quatre pattes, vous sera souillé ; quiconque touchera leur carcasse sera souillé jusqu’au soir.

 27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

28 Et celui qui porte leur carcasse, lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu’au soir ; elles vous seront souillées.

 28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

29 ¶ Celles-ci aussi vous seront souillées parmi les choses rampantes qui rampent sur la terre : la belette, la souris et la tortue, selon son espèce,

 29 ¶ These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

30 Et le furet, le caméléon, le lézard, l’escargot et la taupe.

 30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

31 Celles-là sont souillées pour vous parmi toutes celles qui rampent ; quiconque les touchent quand elles sont mortes sera souillé jusqu’au soir.

 31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

32 Et tout ce sur quoi il en tombera quand ils seront morts, sera souillé, que ce soit n’importe quel ustensile de bois, ou vêtement, ou peau, ou sac, tout ustensile que ce soit dans lequel un quelconque travail est fait ; il sera mis dans l’eau, et sera souillé jusqu’au soir, ainsi il sera net.

 32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

33 Et tout ustensile de terre, dans lequel il en tombe quelque chose, tout ce qui est dedans sera souillé, et vous le briserez.

33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

34 De tout aliment qui peut être mangé, sur lequel il sera tombé de cette eau, sera souillé ; et tout breuvage qui peut être bu, dans quelque ustensile que ce soit, sera souillé.

 34 Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

35 Et toute chose sur laquelle tombera quelque partie de leur carcasse, sera souillée ; que ce soit le four ou le foyer pour les casseroles, ils seront détruits ; car ils sont souillés et ils vous seront souillés.

 35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

36 Néanmoins une fontaine ou une fosse, dans lesquelles il y a abondance d’eau, seront nettes ; mais celui qui touche leur carcasse sera souillé.

 36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

37 Et si une partie quelconque de leur carcasse tombe sur quelque semence qui se sème, elle sera nette.

 37 And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

38 Mais si de l’eau est mise sur la semence, et qu’il y tombe quelque chose de leur carcasse, elle vous sera souillée.

 38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

39 Et si quelque bête, desquelles vous pouvez manger, meurt, celui qui en touche la carcasse sera souillé jusqu’au soir.

 39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

40 Et celui qui mange de sa carcasse lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu’au soir ; et celui aussi qui porte sa carcasse, lavera ses vêtements et sera souillé jusqu’au soir.

 40 And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

41 Et tout être rampantqui rampe sur la terre sera une abomination ; on n’en mangera pas.

 41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

42 Tout ce qui marche sur le ventre et tout ce qui marche sur quatre pattes, ou tout ce qui a plusieurs pieds parmi toutes les choses rampantes qui rampent sur la terre, vous n’en mangerez pas, car ils sont une abomination.

 42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

43 Vous ne vous rendrez pas abominables par aucune être rampant qui rampe et vous ne vous rendrez pas non plus souillés par elles, car vous seriez corrompus par cela.

 43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

44 Car je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu ; vous vous sanctifierez donc et vous serez saints ; car je suis saint : vous ne vous souillerez pas non plus par aucune être rampant qui rampe sur la terre.

 44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

45 Car je suis le SEIGNEUR, qui vous a fait monter hors du pays d’Égypte, pour être votre Dieu ; vous serez donc saints, car je suis saint.

 45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46 C’est la loi concernant les bêtes, et les volatiles, et toute créature vivante qui se meut dans les eaux et pour toute créature qui rampe sur la terre,

 46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

47 Afin de faire la différence entre le souillé et le net et entre la bête qui peut être mangée et celle qui ne peut être mangée.

 47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
