1 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse, après la mort des deux fils d’Aaron, lorsqu’ils offraient devant le SEIGNEUR et moururent ;

 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died;

2 Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Parle à Aaron ton frère, afin qu’il n’entre pas en tout temps dans le saint lieu, à l’intérieur du voile, devant le siège de miséricorde qui est sur l’arche, afin qu’il ne meure pas ; car j’apparaîtrai dans le nuage sur le siège de miséricorde.

 2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.

3 Aaron entrera de cette manière dans le saint lieu avec un jeune taurillon pour une offrande du péché et un bélier pour l’offrande consumée.

 3 Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

4 Il se revêtira du saint manteau de lin, et mettra les caleçons de lin sur sa chair et se ceindra d’un ceinturon de lin et de la mitre de lin il se parera ; ceux-ci sont les saints vêtements ; c’est pourquoi il lavera sa chair dans l’eau et ainsi s’en revêtira.

 4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.

5 Et il prendra de la congrégation des enfants d’Israël deux chevreaux pour une offrande du péché, et un bélier pour une offrande consumée.

 5 And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

6 Et Aaron offrira son taurillon de l’offrande du péché, qui est pour lui-même, et fera une expiation pour lui-même et pour sa maison.

 6 And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.

7 Et il prendra les deux boucs et les présentera devant le SEIGNEUR, à la porte du tabernacle de la congrégation.

 7 And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

8 Et Aaron tirera au sort les deux boucs ; un sort pour le SEIGNEUR et un sort pour le bouc émissaire.

 8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.

9 Et Aaron apportera le bouc sur lequel le sort pour le SEIGNEUR est tombé et l’offrira pour une offrande du péché.

 9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.

10 Mais le bouc sur lequel le sort est tombé pour être le bouc émissaire, sera présenté vivant devant le SEIGNEUR, pour faire une expiation avec lui, et de le laisser partir comme bouc émissaire dans le désert.

 10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

11 Et Aaron apportera le taurillon de l’offrande du péché, qui est pour lui-même et feral’expiation pour lui-même et pour sa maison ; et il tuera le taurillon de l’offrande du péché, lequel est pour lui-même.

 11 And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:

12 Et il prendra un encensoir plein de charbons ardents du feu, de l’autel devant le SEIGNEUR, et ses mains pleines d’encens odoriférant pulvérisé, et l’apportera à l’intérieur du voile ;

 12 And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:

13 Et il mettra l’encens sur le feu devant le SEIGNEUR, afin que le nuage de l’encens puisse couvrir le siège de miséricorde qui est sur le témoignage, afin qu’il ne meure pas.

 13 And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:

14 Et il prendra du sang du taurillon et en aspergera avec son doigt sur le siège de miséricorde du côté est ; et il aspergera de sang devant le siège de miséricorde avec son doigt sept fois.

 14 And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

15 ¶ Puis il tuera le bouc de l’offrande du péché, qui est pour le peuple, et apportera son sang à l’intérieur du voile, et fera avec ce sang comme il a fait avec le sang du taurillon et l’aspergera sur le siège de miséricorde et devant le siège de miséricorde.

 15 ¶ Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

16 Et il fera une expiation pour le saint lieu, à cause de la souillure des enfants d’Israël, et à cause de leurs transgressions dans tous leurs péchés ; et de même fera-il pour le tabernacle de la congrégation qui reste avec eux au milieu de leur souillure.

 16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

17 Et nul homme ne sera dans le tabernacle de la congrégation quand il entre pour faire uneexpiation dans le saint lieu, jusqu’à ce qu’il en sorte, et qu’il aura fait une expiation pour lui-même, pour sa maison et pour toute la congrégation d’Israël.

 17 And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.

18 Et il sortira vers l’autel qui est devant le SEIGNEUR et fera l’expiation pour lui ; et il prendra du sang du taurillon et du sang du bouc, et le mettra sur les cornes de l’autel, tout autour.

 18 And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

19 Et il aspergera du sang sur celui-ci, avec son doigt, sept fois, et le nettoiera et le sanctifiera de la souillure des enfants d’Israël.

 19 And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

20 ¶ Et quand il aura achevé de réconcilier le saint lieu, et le tabernacle de la congrégation et l’autel, il amènera le bouc vivant.

 20 ¶ And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:

21 Et Aaron posera ses deux mains sur la tête du bouc vivant et confessera sur lui toutes les iniquités des enfants d’Israël, et toutes leurs transgressions dans tous leurs péchés ; les mettant sur la tête du bouc et l’enverra par la main d’un homme capable dans le désert.

 21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

22 Et le bouc portera sur lui toutes leurs iniquités dans une terre inhabitée : et il laissera partir le bouc dans le désert.

 22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

23 Et Aaron entrera dans le tabernacle de la congrégation et enlèvera les vêtements de lin dont il s’était vêtu quand il était entré dans le saint lieu, et il les laissera là.

 23 And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

24 Et il lavera sa chair avec de l’eau dans le saint lieu, et revêtira ses vêtements ; et sortira et offrira son offrande consumée et l’offrande consumée du peuple, et fera l’expiation pour lui-même et pour le peuple.

 24 And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.

25 Et il brûlera la graisse de l’offrande du péché sur l’autel.

 25 And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar.

26 Et celui qui a laissé partir le bouc pour être le bouc émissaire, lavera ses vêtements et baignera sa chair dans l’eau, et après cela, il rentrera dans le camp.

 26 And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.

27 Et le taurillon pour l’offrande du péché et le bouc pour l’offrande du péché, desquels le sang a été porté dans le saint lieu pour faire expiation, on les emportera hors du camp, et on brûlera au feu leur peau et leur chair et leurs excréments.

 27 And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

28 Et celui qui les aura brûlés lavera ses vêtements et baignera sa chair dans l’eau, et après cela, il rentrera dans le camp.

 28 And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

29 ¶ Et ceci vous sera un statut pour toujours : qu’au septième mois, le dixième jour du mois, vous affligerez vos âmes et ne ferez aucun travail, que ce soit un de votre propre pays, soit un étranger qui séjourne au milieu de vous ;

 29 ¶ And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:

30 Car en ce jour-là le prêtre fera une expiation pour vous, afin de vous nettoyer ; pour que vous puissiez être nettoyés de tous vos péchés devant le SEIGNEUR.

 30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

31 Ce sera un shabbat, de repos pour vous et vous affligerez vos âmes, par un statut pour toujours.

 31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

32 Et le prêtre qui aura été oint et qui aura été consacré pour servir dans la fonction de prêtre à la place de son père, fera l’ expiation et revêtira les vêtements de lin, c’est-à-dire les saints vêtements.

 32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:

33 Et il fera une expiation pour le saint sanctuaire et il fera une expiation pour le tabernacle de la congrégation, et pour l’autel ; il fera une expiation pour les prêtres, et pour tout le peuple de la congrégation.

 33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

34 Et ceci sera un statut éternel pour vous, afin de faire une expiation pour les enfants d’Israël de tous leurs péchés, une fois par an. Et il fit comme le SEIGNEUR l’avait commandé à Moïse.

 34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
