1 Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Parle aux prêtres, les fils d’Aaron, et dis-leur : Qu’aucun d’eux ne se corrompra parmi son peuple pour un mort,

 1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:

2 Mais pour son parent, qui est près de lui, c’est-à-dire pour sa mère, et pour son père, et pour son fils, et pour sa fille, et pour son frère,

 2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,

3 Et pour sa sœur vierge qui est près de lui, qui n’a pas de mari ; pour elle il peut être corrompu.

 3 And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

4 Mais il ne se corrompra pas, étant un chef parmi son peuple, pour se profaner.

 4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

5 Ils ne raseront pas leur tête pour la rendre chauve ; ils ne raseront pas non plus les coins de leur barbe, ni ne feront aucune incision dans leur chair.

 5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

6 Ils seront saints à leur Dieu, et ne profaneront pas le nom de leur Dieu ; car ils offrent les offrandes du SEIGNEUR faites par feu, et le pain de leur Dieu : c’est pourquoi ils seront saints.

 6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.

7 Ils ne prendront pas une femme qui est une prostituée ou déshonorée ; ils ne prendront pas non plus une femme répudiée par son mari ; car il est saint à son Dieu.

 7 They shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

8 Tu le sanctifieras donc, car il offre le pain de ton Dieu ; il te sera saint, car moi, le SEIGNEUR, qui vous sanctifie, suis saint.

 8 Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the LORD, which sanctify you, am holy.

9 ¶ Et si la fille d’un prêtre se profane en se prostituant, elle profane son père ; elle sera brûlée au feu.

 9 ¶ And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

10 Et celui qui est le grand prêtre parmi ses frères, sur la tête duquel l’huile d’onction a été répandue, et qui est consacré pour revêtir les vêtements ne découvrira pas sa tête, ni ne déchirera ses vêtements.

 10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;

11 Il n’ira vers aucun corps mort ; ni ne se contaminera pour son père, ni pour sa mère.

 11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

12 Il ne sortira pas du sanctuaire, ni ne profanera le sanctuaire de son Dieu, car la couronne de l’huile d’onction de son Dieu est sur lui : Je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 12 Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.

13 Et il prendra une femme encore vierge.

 13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.

14 Une veuve, ou une femme divorcée ou impie ou une prostituée, celles-ci il ne prendra pas ; mais il prendra pour femme une vierge d’entre son peuple.

 14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

15 Il ne profanera pas non plus sa semence parmi son peuple ; car moi le SEIGNEUR le sanctifie.

 15 Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.

16 ¶ Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse, disant :

 16 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

17 Parle à Aaron disant : Quiconque de ta semence, dans leurs générations futures, a quelque défaut corporel, ne le laisse pas approcher pour offrir le pain de son Dieu ;

 17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

18 Car quelque soit l’homme qui a un défaut, il ne s’approchera pas : un homme aveugle, ou un boiteux, ou un qui a le nez aplati, ou quelque chose superflue ;

 18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,

19 Ou un homme qui a une fracture au pied ou à la main ;

 19 Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,

20 Ou bossu ou nain, ou qui a un défaut à son œil, ou qui est rachitique ou qui a une croûte ou les testicules écrasés.

 20 Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

21 Nul homme de la semence d’Aaron le prêtre qui a un défaut, ne s’approchera pour offrir les offrandes du SEIGNEUR faites par feu : il a un défaut ; il ne s’approchera pas pour offrir le pain de son Dieu.

 21 No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

22 Il mangera le pain de son Dieu, c’est-à-dire des choses très saintes et des choses saintes ;

 22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

23 Seulement il n’ira pas vers le voile, ni ne s’approchera de l’autel, parce qu’il a un défaut : afin qu’il ne profane pas mes sanctuaires : car moi le SEIGNEUR les sanctifie.

 23 Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.

24 Et Moïse le raconta à Aaron et à ses fils, et à tous les enfants d’Israël.

 24 And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.
