1 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse au mont Sinaï, disant :

 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

2 Parle aux enfants d’Israël et dis-leur : Quand vous serez entrés dans la terre que je vous donne, alors la terre célébrera un shabbat au SEIGNEUR.

 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.

3 Pendant six ans, tu sèmeras ton champ et pendant six ans tu tailleras ta vigne et tu en recueilleras le fruit.

 3 Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;

4 Mais la septième année sera un shabbat de repos pour la terre, un shabbat au SEIGNEUR ; tu ne sèmeras pas ton champ et tu ne tailleras pas ta vigne,

 4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

5 Ce qui repoussera tout seul de ta moisson, tu ne moissonneras pas, tu ne vendangeras pas non plus les raisins de ta vigne non taillée ; car c’est une année de repos pour la terre.

 5 That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

6 Et le shabbat de la terre vous sera nourriture, à toi, à ton serviteur, à ta servante, à ton serviteur salarié et pour ton étranger qui séjourne avec toi,

 6 And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,

7 Et quant à ton bétail et aux bêtes qui sont dans ta terre ; tout son produit sera votre nourriture.

 7 And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

8 ¶ Et tu compteras sept shabbats d’années, sept fois sept ans ; et l’espace des sept shabbats d’années te feront quarante-neuf ans ;

 8 ¶ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

9 Puis tu feras sonner la trompette du jubilé, le dixième jour du septième mois ; au jour de l’expiation, vous ferez sonner la trompette à travers toute votre terre.

 9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

10 Et vous sanctifierez la cinquantième année et vous proclamerez la liberté à travers tout le pays à tous ses habitants : ce sera un jubilé pour vous et vous retournerez chaque homme dans sa possession et vous retournerez chaque homme dans sa famille.

 10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

11 Cette cinquantième année sera pour vous un jubilé: vous ne sèmerez pas, ni ne moissonnerez ce qui pousse tout seul, ni ne recueillerez les raisins de ta vigne non taillée ;

 11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.

12 Car c’est le jubilé, il vous sera saint ; vous mangerez le revenu des champs.

 12 For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

13 En l’année de ce jubilé, vous retournerez chaque homme dans sa possession.

 13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

14 Et si tu vends quelque chose à ton voisin, ou achète quelque chose de la main de ton voisin, ne vous opprimez pas l’un l’autre.

 14 And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

15 Tu achèteras de ton voisin selon le nombre des années après le jubilé ; et il te vendra selon le nombre des années du produit.

 15 According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:

16 Selon la multitude d’années, tu en augmenteras le prix, et selon le petit nombre d’années, tu en diminueras le prix ; car c.est selon le nombre des années du produit qu’il te vend.

 16 According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.

17 Vous ne vous opprimerez donc pas l’un l’autre ; mais tu craindras ton Dieu ; car je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu.

 17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.

18 ¶ C’est pourquoi vous pratiquerez mes statuts et garderez mes jugements et les pratiquerez ; et vous demeurerez dans la terre en sécurité.

 18 ¶ Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

19 Et la terre produira son fruit, et vous mangerez à satiété, et vous y demeurerez en sécurité.

 19 And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

20 Et si vous dites : Que mangerons-nous la septième année ? Voici, nous ne sèmerons pas, ni ne recueillerons notre produit ;

 20 And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

21 Alors je commanderai ma bénédiction d’être sur vous en la sixième année et elle donnera son fruit pour trois ans.

 21 Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

22 Et vous sèmerez la huitième année, et mangerez encore de l’ancien fruit jusqu’à la neuvième année ; jusqu’à ce que ses fruits soient venus, vous mangerez de l’ancienne réserve.

 22 And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.

23 ¶ La terre ne sera pas vendue pour toujours ; car la terre est mienne, car vous êtes étrangers et séjournant chez moi.

 23 ¶ The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

24 Et dans toute la terre de votre possession, vous accorderez le droit de rachat pour la terre.

 24 And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

25 ¶ Si ton frère devient pauvre, et a vendu une partie de sa possession, et si un de ses proches parents vient lui racheter, alors il rachètera ce que son frère a vendu.

 25 ¶ If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

26 Et si l’homme n’a personne pour le racheter et que lui-même soit capable de le racheter,

 26 And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;

27 Alors qu’il compte les années depuis sa vente et qu’il restitue le surplus à l’homme à qui il avait vendu, afin qu’il puisse retourner dans sa possession.

 27 Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.

28 Mais s’il ne peut la lui restituer, alors ce qui est vendu restera dans la main de celui qui l’a acheté, jusqu’à l’année du jubilé ; et lors du jubilé, elle sera libérée et il la retournera en sa possession.

 28 But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

29 Et si un homme vend une maison d’habitation dans une ville entourée de murailles, il pourra alors la racheter durant l’année entière après qu’elle soit vendue ; durant une année entière il pourra la racheter.

 29 And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.

30 Mais si elle n’est pas rachetée en l’espace d’une année entière, alors la maison qui est dans la ville entourée de murailles sera pour toujours à celui qui l’a achetée à travers ses générations : elle ne sera pas libérée au jubilé.

 30 And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.

31 Mais les maisons des villages qui n’ont pas de muraille tout autour, seront considérées comme des champs du pays ; elles pourront être rachetées, et elles seront libérées au jubilé.

 31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.

32 Et quant aux villes des Lévites et les maisons des villes de leur possession, les Lévites peuvent racheter à tout moment.

 32 Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

33 Et si un homme achète des Lévites, alors la maison qui a été vendue, et la ville de sa possession sera libérée dans l’année du jubilé ; car les maisons des villes des Lévites sont leur possession parmi les enfants d’Israël.

 33 And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

34 Mais le champ des faubourgs de leurs villes ne peut être vendu ; car c’est leur possession perpétuelle.

 34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

35 ¶ Et si ton frère est devenu pauvre et tombe dans l’indigence près de toi, alors tu le secourras ; oui, même s’il est étranger ou séjournant, afin qu’il puisse vivre près de toi.

 35 ¶ And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

36 Tu ne prendras de lui ni intérêt ni surcroît ; mais crains ton Dieu, afin que ton frère puisse vivre auprès de toi.

 36 Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

37 Tu ne lui donneras pas ton argent à intérêt, et tu ne lui prêteras pas de tes vivres pour surcroît.

 37 Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

38 Je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, qui vous ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte, pour vous donner la terre de Canaan, et pour être votre Dieu.

 38 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

39 ¶ Et si ton frère, qui demeure près de toi, devient pauvre et se soit vendu à toi, tu ne l’obligeras pas de te servir comme un homme asservi ;

 39 ¶ And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:

40 Mais il sera près de toi comme un serviteur salarié, et comme séjournant ; et il te servira jusqu’à l’année du jubilé ;

 40 But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:

41 Et alors il partira de chez toi, lui et ses enfants avec lui ; et il retournera dans sa propre famille, et retournera dans la possession de ses pères.

 41 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

42 Car ils sont mes serviteurs, que j’ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte ; ils ne seront pas vendus comme hommes asservis.

 42 For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

43 Tu ne domineras pas sur lui avec rigueur ; mais tu craindras ton Dieu.

 43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

44 Quant à tes hommes asservis et tes femmes asservies que tu auras, ils viendront des païens qui sont autour de vous ; de ceux-là vous achèterez les hommes asservis et femmes asservies.

 44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

45 De plus vous achèterez des enfants des étrangers qui séjournent parmi vous, et de leurs familles qui sont avec vous, lesquels engendreront dans votre terre ; et ils seront votre possession.

 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

46 Et vous les prendrez comme un héritage pour vos enfants après vous, afin qu’ils en héritent la possession ; ils seront vos hommes asservis pour toujours ; mais sur vos frères, les enfants d’Israël, vous ne dominerez pas les uns et les autres avec rigueur.

 46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

47 ¶ Et si un homme qui séjourne ou un étranger s’est enrichi auprès de toi, et que ton frère qui demeure près de lui soit devenu pauvre et se soit vendu à l’étranger ou à celui qui séjourne près de toi, ou à la souche de la famille de l’étranger,

 47 ¶ And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:

48 Après qu’il s’est vendu, il pourra être racheté de nouveau ; un de ses frères pourra le racheter ;

 48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

49 Ou son oncle, ou le fils de son oncle pourra le racheter, ou quelque autre qui est proche parent de sa famille pourra le racheter ; ou s’il le peut, il pourra se racheter lui-même.

 49 Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.

50 Et il comptera avec celui qui l’a acheté, depuis l’année où il s’est vendu à lui jusqu’à l’année du jubilé et son prix de vente sera selon le nombre des années ; selon le temps qu’il aura servi comme serviteur salarié.

 50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.

51 S’il y a encore beaucoup d’années, il restituera selon celles-ci, le prix de son rachat, de l’argent avec lequel il a été acheté ;

 51 If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

52 Et s’il reste peu d’années jusqu’à l’année du jubilé, il comptera alors avec lui, et selon ses années, il donnera le prix de son rachat.

 52 And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.

53 Et il sera avec lui comme un serviteur salarié à l’année ; et l’autre son maître ne dominera pas sur lui avec rigueur en ta présence.

 53 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.

54 Et s’il n’est pas racheté durant ces années, alors il sortira l’année du jubilé, lui et ses enfants avec lui.

 54 And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.

55 Car à moi les enfants d’Israël sont serviteurs ; ils sont mes serviteurs que j’ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte : Je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu.

 55 For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
