1 Vous ne vous ferez pas d’idoles, ni d’image taillée, vous ne vous dresserez pas de statue, vous n’érigerez non plus aucune effigie de pierre dans votre pays, pour s’incliner devant elle ; car je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu.

 1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

2 ¶ Vous garderez mes shabbats, et vous révérerez mon sanctuaire : Je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 2 ¶ Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

3 ¶ Si vous marchez dans mes statuts, et gardez mes commandements, et les faites,

 3 ¶ If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

4 Alors je vous donnerai la pluie en la saison voulue, et la terre donnera son surcroît, et les arbres des champs donneront leurs fruits.

 4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

5 Et votre battage parviendra jusqu’à la vendange ; et la vendange parviendra jusqu’aux semailles ; et vous mangerez votre pain à satiété, et vous demeurerez dans votre terre en sécurité.

 5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

6 Et je donnerai la paix dans la terre ; et vous vous coucherez, et personne ne vous fera peur ; et je ferai disparaître les mauvaises bêtes de la terre, et l’épée ne passera pas à travers votre terre.

 6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

7 Et vous poursuivrez vos ennemis, et ils tomberont devant vous par l’épée.

 7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

8 Et cinq d’entre vous en poursuivront une centaine et une centaine d’entre vous mettront en fuite dix mille et vos ennemis tomberont devant vous par l’épée.

 8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

9 Et j’aurai du respect pour vous et je vous ferai fructifier et vous multiplierai et établirai mon alliance avec vous.

 9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

10 Et vous mangerez d’anciennes provisions, et vous sortirez les anciennes à cause des nouvelles

 10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.

11 Et je placerai mon tabernacle au milieu de vous et mon âme ne vous aura pas en horreur.

 11 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.

12 Et je marcherai au milieu de vous et je serai votre Dieu et vous serez mon peuple.

 12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

13 Je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, qui vous a fait sortir du pays d’Égypte, afin que vous n’y soyez plus asservis, j’ai brisé les liens de votre joug et vous ai fait aller la tête haute.

 13 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

14 ¶ Mais si vous ne voulez pas m’écouter et vous ne voulez pas faire tous ces commandements,

 14 ¶ But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;

15 Et si vous méprisez mes statuts, ou si votre âme a en horreur mes jugements, pour que vous ne fassiez pas tous mes commandements et que vous rompiez mon alliance,

 15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:

16 Je vous ferai aussi ceci : J’assignerai sur vous terreur, consomption et la fièvre ardente qui consumeront les yeux et attristeront le cœur ; et vous sèmerez votre semence en vain, car vos ennemis la mangeront.

 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

17 Et je dresserai ma face contre vous et vous serez tués devant vos ennemis ; ceux qui vous haïssent régneront sur vous ; et vous fuirez sans qu’aucun vous poursuive.

 17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

18 Et si encore après cela, vous ne voulez pas m’écouter, alors je vous punirai sept fois plus pour vos péchés ;

 18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

19 Et je briserai l’orgueil de votre pouvoir ; et je rendrai votre ciel comme du fer, et votre terre comme du cuivre.

 19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:

20 Et votre vigueur sera dépensée en vain, car votre terre ne donnera pas son surcroît, et les arbres de la terre ne produiront pas non plus leurs fruits.

 20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

21 ¶ Et si vous marchez de front contre moi, et que vous ne voulez pas m’écouter, je vous frapperai de sept fois plus de plaies, selon vos péchés.

 21 ¶ And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

22 J’enverrai aussi des bêtes sauvages parmi vous, qui raviront vos enfants et détruiront votre bétail et vous réduiront à un petit nombre ; et vos chemins seront dévastés.

 22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.

23 Et si vous ne voulez pas être réformés par moi par ces choses, mais que vous marchiez de front contre moi,

 23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;

24 Alors je marcherai, moi aussi, de front contre vous et je vous punirai encore sept fois plus pour vos péchés.

 24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.

25 Et je ferai venir une épée sur vous, qui vengera la querelle de mon alliance ; et quand vous vous rassemblerez dans vos villes, j’enverrai la peste parmi vous, et vous serez livrés en la main de l’ennemi.

 25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

26 Et quand je vous aurai rompu le soutien de votre pain, dix femmes cuiront votre pain dans un four, et elles vous livreront votre pain au poids ; et vous mangerez, et vous ne serez pas rassasiés.

 26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

27 Et si avec cela, vous ne voulez pas m’écouter, et que vous marchiez de front contre moi,

 27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;

28 Alors je marcherai aussi de front contre vous, avec fureur, et moi, moi, dis-je, vous châtierai sept fois pour vos péchés ;

 28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

29 Et vous mangerez la chair de vos fils, et la chair de vos filles vous mangerez ;

 29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

30 Et je détruirai vos hauts lieux et j’abattrai vos images et mettrai vos cadavres sur les cadavres de vos idoles et mon âme vous aura en horreur.

 30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

31 Et je ferai de vos villes une dévastation et je réduirai vos sanctuaires en désolation, et je ne sentirai plus la fragrance de vos senteurs suaves.

31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.

32 Et je réduirai votre terre en désolation et vos ennemis qui y demeureront en seront étonnés.

 32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.

33 Et je vous disperserai parmi les païens et je dégainerai l’épée après vous ; et votre terre sera ravagée et vos villes dévastées,

 33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.

34 Puis la terre jouira de ses shabbats, aussi longtemps qu’elle sera ravagée, et que vous serez dans le pays de vos ennemis ; alors la terre se reposera et jouira de ses shabbats.

 34 Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.

35 Aussi longtemps qu’elle sera ravagée, elle se reposera, parce qu’elle ne s’était pas reposée dans vos shabbats pendant que vous y demeuriez.

 35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.

36 Et à ceux d’entre vous qui seront restés vivants, j’enverrai une lâcheté dans leur cœur, dans les pays de leurs ennemis ; et le bruit d’une feuille agitée les poursuivra ; et ils fuiront comme on fuit l’épée, et ils tomberont sans qu’aucun les poursuive ;

 36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.

37 Et ils tomberont l’un sur l’autre comme devant une épée, sans qu’aucun les poursuive ; et vous n’aurez aucune force pour vous tenir devant vos ennemis.

 37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

38 Et vous périrez parmi les païens et la terre de vos ennemis vous dévorera.

 38 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

39 Et ceux d’entre vous qui resteront dépériront dans leur iniquité, dans les pays de vos ennemis, et aussi dans les iniquités de leurs pères, ils dépériront avec eux.

 39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

40 S’ils confessent leur iniquité et l’iniquité de leurs pères ainsi que les transgressions par lesquelles ils ont transgressé contre moi, et qu’aussi ils ont marché de front contre moi.

 40 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

41 Si bien que moi aussi j’ai marché de front contre eux, et les ai amenés dans la terre de leurs ennemis, si alors leur cœur incirconcis s’humilie, et qu’ils acceptent alors la punition de leur iniquité,

 41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:

42 Alors je me souviendrai de mon alliance avec Jacob, et aussi de mon alliance avec Isaac et aussi me souviendrai-je de mon alliance avec Abraham et je me souviendrai de la terre.

 42 Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

43 La terre aussi sera abandonnée par eux et jouira de ses shabbats, pendant qu’elle gît ravagée sans eux ; et ils accepteront la punition de leur iniquité, parce que, justement parce qu’ils ont méprisé mes jugements et parce que leur âme a eu en horreur mes statuts.

 43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.

44 Et cependant avec tout cela, lorsqu’ils seront dans la terre de leurs ennemis, je ne les rejetterai pas, ni ne les aurai en horreur, pour les détruire entièrement et pour rompre mon alliance avec eux ; car je suis le SEIGNEUR leur Dieu.

 44 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God.

45 Mais pour leur bien je me souviendrai de l’alliance faite avec leurs ancêtres, lesquels j’ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte, à la vue des païens, afin que je puisse être leur Dieu : Je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

46 Ce sont là les statuts, les jugements et les lois que le SEIGNEUR fit entre lui et les enfants d’Israël, au mont Sinaï, par la main de Moïse.

 46 These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
