1 Ne jugez pas afin que vous ne soyez pas jugés.

 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 Car du jugement dont vous jugez, vous serez jugés: et de la mesure dont vous mesurez, il vous sera mesuré réciproquement.

 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 Et pourquoi regardes-tu la paille dans l’œil de ton frère et ne vois-tu pas la poutre dans ton œil?

 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Ou comment dis-tu à ton frère, Laisse-moi ôter la paille de ton œil; et, voici, une poutre est dans ton œil?

 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Toi hypocrite, ôte d’abord la poutre de ton œil; et alors tu verras clairement comment ôter la paille de l’œil de ton frère.

 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

6 ¶ Ne donnez pas ce qui est saint aux chiens, et ne jetez pas non plus vos perles devant les pourceaux, de peur qu’ils ne les écrasent sous leurs pieds, et que se retournant, ils ne vous déchirent.

 6 ¶ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

7 ¶ Demandez et il vous sera donné; cherchez et vous trouverez; frappez et il vous sera ouvert:

 7 ¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 Car quiconque demande reçoit; et celui qui cherche, trouve; et à celui qui frappe, il sera ouvert.

 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Ou quel est l’homme d’entre vous qui, si son fils lui demande du pain, lui donne une pierre?

 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Ou s’il demande un poisson, lui donnera-t-il un serpent?

 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 Si alors vous, qui êtes mauvais, savez comment donner à vos enfants de bons présents, combien plus votre Père qui est au ciel donnera-t-il de bonnes choses à ceux qui les lui demandent?

 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12 Par conséquent toutes les choses quelles que soient-elles que vous voudriez que les hommes vous fassent, faites-les oui certainement pour eux: car c’est là la loi et les prophètes.

 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 ¶ Entrez par la porte étroite: car large est la porte, et spacieux est le chemin, qui conduit à la destruction, et il y en a beaucoup qui entrent par là:

 13 ¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Parce qu’étroite est la porte et resserré est le chemin qui mène à la vie, et il y en a peu qui le trouvent.

 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 ¶ Gardez-vous des faux prophètes, qui viennent à vous revêtus de peaux de mouton, mais qui au-dedans sont des loups voraces.

 15 ¶ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Vous les reconnaîtrez à leurs fruits. Les hommes cueillent-ils des raisins sur des épines ou des figues sur des chardons?

 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Oui certainement tout bon arbre produit du bon fruit; mais un arbre corrompu produit du mauvais fruit.

 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 Un bon arbre ne peut produire du mauvais fruit, ni un arbre corrompu ne peut produire du bon fruit.

 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Tout arbre qui ne produit pas du bon fruit est coupé et jeté au feu.

 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 C’est pourquoi vous les connaîtrez à leurs fruits.

 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 ¶ Ce n’est pas quiconque me dit: Seigneur, Seigneur, qui entrera dans le royaume du ciel; mais celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père qui est au ciel.

 21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Beaucoup me diront en ce jour-là, Seigneur, Seigneur, n’avons-nous pas prophétisé en ton nom? et chassé les diables en ton nom? et fait beaucoup d’œuvres merveilleuses en ton nom?

 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 Et alors je leur déclarerai, Je ne vous ai jamais connus: retirez-vous de moi, vous qui pratiquez l’iniquité.

 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 ¶ Par conséquent quiconque entend ces dires de moi et les met en pratique, je le comparerai à un homme sage qui a bâti sa maison sur le roc:

 24 ¶ Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 Et la pluie est tombée, et les torrents sont venus et les vents ont soufflé, et ont déferlé sur cette maison; et elle n’est pas tombée: car elle était fondée sur le roc.

 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 Et quiconque entend ces dires que je dis et ne les met pas en pratique, sera comparé à un homme insensé qui a bâti sa maison sur le sable:

 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 Et la pluie est tombée, et les torrents sont venus et les vents ont soufflé, et ont déferlé sur cette maison; et elle est tombée: et grande a été sa chute.

 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

28 Et il arriva lorsque Jésus eut achevé ces dires, que le peuple fut étonné de sa doctrine:

 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

29 Car il les enseignait comme quelqu’un ayant autorité, et non pas comme les scribes.

 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
