1 Quand il fut descendu de la montagne, de grandes multitudes le suivirent.

 1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

2 Et, voici, un lépreux vint à lui et l’adora, disant: Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre net.

 2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

3 Et Jésus, étendit sa main et le toucha, disant: Je le veux: sois net. Et immédiatement sa lèpre fut épurée.

 3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4 Et Jésus lui dit: Veille à ne le dire à personne; mais va, montre-toi au prêtre, et offre le don que Moïse a commandé, pour leur être un témoignage.

 4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

5 ¶ Et quand Jésus fut entré dans Capernaüm, un centurion vint à lui, l’implorant,

 5 ¶ And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6 Et disant: Seigneur, mon serviteur est au lit à la maison, atteint de paralysie, douloureusement tourmenté.

 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7 Et Jésus lui dit: J’irai et je le guérirai.

 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

8 Le centurion répondit et dit: Seigneur, je ne suis pas digne que tu viennes sous mon toit: mais dis seulement la parole, et mon serviteur sera guéri.

 8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 Car je suis un homme sous autorité, ayant sous moi des soldats: et je dis à cet homme: Va, et il va; et à un autre: Viens, et il vient; et à mon serviteur: Fais ceci, et il le fait.

 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 Lorsque Jésus l’entendit, il fut émerveillé, et il dit à ceux qui le suivaient: En vérité, je vous dis que je n’ai pas trouvé une si grande foi, non, pas même en Israël.

 10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

11 Et je vous dis que beaucoup viendront de l’est et de l’ouest, et s’assiéront avec Abraham, et Isaac et Jacob, dans le royaume du ciel.

 11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

12 Mais les enfants du royaume seront jetés dans l’obscurité de dehors: là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents.

 12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13 Et Jésus dit au centurion: Va; et qu’il te soit fait selon ce que tu as cru. Et son serviteur fut guéri à l’heure même.

 13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

14 ¶ Et lorsque Jésus fut arrivé à la maison de Pierre, il vit sa belle-mère couchée et étant atteinte d’une fièvre.

 14 ¶ And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.

15 Et il toucha sa main, et la fièvre la quitta: et elle se leva et les servit.

 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

16 ¶ Lorsque le soir fut venu, on lui amena beaucoup de personnes qui étaient possédées de diables: et il chassa les esprits par sa parole, et guérit tous ceux qui étaient malades:

 16 ¶ When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

17 Afin que puisse être accompli ce qui avait été dit par Ésaïe le prophète, disant, Lui-même a pris nos infirmités, et s’est chargé de nos maladies.

 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

18 ¶ Or lorsque Jésus vit de grandes multitudes autour de lui, il donna commandement de passer à l’autre rive.

 18 ¶ Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

19 Et un certain scribe vint et lui dit: Maître, je te suivrai n’importe où tu iras.

 19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

20 Et Jésus lui dit: Les renards ont des tanières et les oiseaux de l’air ont des nids; mais le Fils de l’homme n’a pas où poser sa tête.

 20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

21 Et un autre de ses disciples lui dit: Seigneur, permets que j’aille d’abord enterrer mon père.

 21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

22 Mais Jésus lui dit: Suis-moi; et laisse les morts enterrer leurs morts.

 22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

23 ¶ Et lorsqu’il entra dans un bateau, ses disciples le suivirent.

 23 ¶ And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

24 Et, voici, il s’éleva une grande tempête sur la mer, à tel point que le bateau était couvert par les vagues: mais il dormait.

 24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

25 Et ses disciples vinrent à lui, et le réveillèrent, disant: Seigneur, sauve-nous, nous périssons.

 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

26 Et il leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous peur, Ô vous de petite foi? Puis il se leva, et reprit les vents et la mer; et il se fit un grand calme.

 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

27 Mais les hommes s’émerveillèrent, disant: Quelle sorte d’homme est-ce, à qui même les vents et la mer obéissent!

 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

28 ¶ Et lorsqu’il fut arrivé de l’autre côté, dans la province des Gergéséniens, là deux hommes possédés de diables, sortant des tombes, vinrent à sa rencontre, extrêmement violents, de sorte qu’aucun homme ne pouvait passer par ce chemin-là.

 28 ¶ And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29 Et, voici, ils criaient, disant: Qu'avons-nous à faire avec toi, Jésus, toi Fils de Dieu? Es-tu venu ici pour nous tourmenter avant l’heure?

 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

30 Et il y avait assez loin d’eux un grand troupeau de pourceaux qui se nourrissaient.

 30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

31 De sorte que les diables l’implorèrent, disant: Si tu nous chasses, permets-nous d’aller dans le troupeau de pourceaux.

 31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

32 Et il leur dit: Allez. Et quand ils sortirent, ils allèrent dans le troupeau de pourceaux: et, voici, le troupeau entier de pourceaux descendit avec violence par un endroit escarpé dans la mer, et périt dans les eaux.

 32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

33 Et ceux qui les gardaient s’enfuirent, et s’en allèrent dans la ville, et racontèrent tout et ce qui était arrivé à ceux qui étaient possédés de diables.

 33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

34 Et voici toute la ville sortit au-devant de Jésus: et lorsqu’ils le virent, ils le supplièrent de se retirer de leurs côtes.

 34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
