1 Et il monta dans un bateau, et passa à l’autre rive, et arriva dans sa propre ville.

 1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

2 Et voici on lui amena un homme atteint de paralysie, couché sur un lit: et Jésus, voyant leur foi, dit à celui atteint de paralysie: Fils, sois plein d’ardeur, tes péchés te sont pardonnés.

 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

3 Et, voici, certains des scribes disaient en eux-mêmes, Cet homme blasphème.

 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

4 Et Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, dit: Pourquoi pensez-vous du mal dans vos cœurs?

 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

5 Car lequel est le plus facile de dire: Tes péchés te sont pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi, et marche?

 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

6 Mais afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l’homme a pouvoir sur terre de pardonner les péchés (il dit alors à celui atteint de paralysie): Lève-toi, prends ton lit, et va dans ta maison.

 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

7 Et il se leva, et partit vers sa maison.

 7 And he arose, and departed to his house.

8 Mais lorsque les multitudes virent cela, elles s’émerveillèrent, et glorifièrent Dieu d’avoir donné un tel pouvoir aux hommes.

 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

9 ¶ Et comme Jésus passait plus loin, il vit un homme, nommé Matthieu, assis au poste de douane, et il lui dit: Suis-moi. Et il se leva, et le suivit.

 9 ¶ And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

10 ¶ Et il arriva, comme Jésus était à table dans la maison, voici, beaucoup de publicains et de pécheurs vinrent et s’assirent avec Jésus et ses disciples.

 10 ¶ And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

11 Et lorsque les Pharisiens virent cela, ils dirent à ses disciples: Pourquoi votre Maître mange-t-il avec les publicains et les pécheurs?

 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

12 Mais lorsque Jésus entendit cela, il leur dit: Ceux qui sont bien portants n’ont pas besoin de médecin, mais ceux qui sont malades.

 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

13 Mais allez, et apprenez ce que signifie, Je veux miséricorde, et non pas sacrifice: car je ne suis pas venu appeler les hommes droits, mais les pécheurs à la repentance.

 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

14 ¶ Alors les disciples de Jean vinrent à lui disant: Pourquoi nous et les Pharisiens jeûnons-nous souvent tandis que tes disciples ne jeûnent pas?

 14 ¶ Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?

15 Et Jésus leur dit: Les enfants de la chambre nuptiale peuvent-ils être en deuil tant que l’époux est avec eux? Mais les jours viendront où l’époux leur sera ôté, et alors ils jeûneront.

 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

16 Aucun homme ne met un morceau de tissu neuf à un vieux vêtement, car ce qui est mis pour remplacer emporte le vêtement, et la déchirure est pire.

 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

17 On ne met pas non plus le vin nouveau dans de vieilles bouteilles: autrement les bouteilles se cassent, le vin se répand, et les bouteilles périssent: mais on met le vin nouveau dans des bouteilles neuves, et les deux sont conservés.

 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

18 ¶ Tandis qu’il leur disait ces choses, voici, un certain dirigeant vint, et l’adora, disant: Ma fille vient de mourir: mais viens et pose ta main sur elle, et elle vivra.

 18 ¶ While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

19 Et Jésus se leva et le suivit ainsi que ses disciples.

 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

20 ¶ Et, voici, une femme qui était affligée d’une perte de sang depuis douze ans, vint derrière lui, et toucha le bord de son vêtement:

 20 ¶ And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

21 Car elle disait en elle-même, Si je pouvais juste toucher son vêtement, je serais bien portante.

 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

22 Mais Jésus se retourna et lorsqu’il la vit, il dit: Ma fille, prends courage; ta foi t’a rendue bien portante. Et la femme fut rendue bien portante depuis cette heure-là.

 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

23 Et lorsque Jésus arriva à la maison du dirigeant, et qu’il vit les ménestrels, et le peuple qui faisait grand bruit,

 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

24 Il leur dit: Retirez-vous: car la fillette n’est pas morte, mais elle dort. Et ils le tournèrent en ridicule.

 24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

25 Mais lorsque le peuple eut été mis dehors, il entra et la prit par la main et la fillette se leva.

 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

26 Et la renommée s’en répandit de tous côtés dans tout ce pays-là.

 26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

27 ¶ Et lorsque Jésus partit de là, deux hommes aveugles le suivirent, criant et disant: Toi Fils de David, aie miséricorde sur nous.

 27 ¶ And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

28 Et lorsqu’il fut entré dans la maison, les hommes aveugles vinrent à lui: et Jésus leur dit: Croyez-vous que je suis capable de faire cela? Ils lui répondirent: Oui, Seigneur.

 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

29 Alors il leur toucha les yeux en disant: Qu’il vous soit fait selon votre foi.

 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

30 Et leurs yeux furent ouverts; et Jésus les chargea strictement, disant: Prenez garde qu’aucun homme ne le sache.

 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

31 Mais eux, lorsqu’ils partirent, répandirent de tous côtés sa renommée dans toute cette province.

 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

32 ¶ Et comme ils sortaient, voici, ils lui amenèrent un homme muet, possédé d'un diable.

 32 ¶ As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33 Et lorsque le diable fut chassé, le muet parla: et les multitudes s’émerveillèrent, disant: Il ne s’est jamais rien vu de semblable en Israël.

 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

34 Mais les Pharisiens disaient: Il chasse les diables par le prince des diables.

 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35 Et Jésus allait par toutes les villes et les villages, enseignant dans leurs synagogues, et prêchant l’évangile du royaume et guérissant toute maladie et toute infirmité parmi le peuple.

 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 ¶ Mais lorsqu’il vit les multitudes, il fut ému de compassion envers eux, parce qu’ils étaient fatigués et étaient dispersés de tous côtés, comme des moutons n’ayant pas de berger.

 36 ¶ But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37 Alors il dit à ses disciples: La moisson est vraiment grande, mais les ouvriers sont peu nombreux;

 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Priez donc le Seigneur de la moisson afin qu’il envoie des ouvriers dans sa moisson.

 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
