1 Finalement, mes frères, réjouissez-vous dans le Seigneur. Vous écrire les mêmes choses pour moi en effet n’est pas pénible, mais pour vous, c’est sûr.

 1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.

2 Prenez garde aux chiens, prenez garde aux ouvriers du mal, prenez garde à l’incision.

 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

3 Car nous sommes la circoncision, laquelle adore Dieu en l’esprit, et se réjouit en Christ Jésus, et n’a aucune confiance en la chair.

 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

4 Bien que je puisse aussi avoir confiance dans la chair. Si quelque autre homme pense qu’il a ce dont il peut se confier dans la chair, moi davantage:

 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

5 Circoncis le huitième jour, de la souche d’Israël, de la tribu de Benjamin, un Hébreu des Hébreux; touchant la loi, un Pharisien;

 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

6 Concernant le zèle, persécutant l’église; touchant la droiture laquelle est dans la loi, irréprochable.

 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

7 Mais ces choses qui étaient un gain pour moi, je les ai comptées comme perte pour la cause de Christ.

 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

8 Oui, sans aucun doute, et j’estime toutes choses comme perte, pour l’excellence de la connaissance de Christ Jésus mon Seigneur: pour qui j’ai souffert la perte de toutes choses, et les estime comme des excréments, afin que je puisse gagner Christ,

 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 Et d’être trouvé en lui, n’ayant pas ma propre droiture, laquelle est de la loi, mais celle qui est par le moyen de la foi de Christ, la droiture laquelle est de Dieu par la foi:

 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 Afin que je puisse le connaître, et le pouvoir de sa résurrection, et l’association de ses souffrances, étant rendu conforme à sa mort;

 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 Si en quelque manière je puis parvenir à la résurrection des morts.

 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Non comme si j’étais déjà parvenu, ou que je sois déjà parfait: mais je poursuis, si tant est que je puisse m’emparer ce pour lequel aussi Christ Jésus s’est emparé de moi.

 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Frères, je ne m’estime pas m’en être emparé: mais cette seule chose je fais, oubliant ces choses lesquelles sont derrière, et essayant et atteignant ces choses lesquelles sont devant,

 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 Je cours vers le but, pour le prix de l’appel d’en haut venant de Dieu en Christ Jésus.

 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Soyons donc tout autant que nous sommes parfaits, soyons ainsi enclins: et si en quelque chose vous êtes enclins autrement, Dieu vous révélera même cela.

 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Néanmoins, pour là où nous sommes déjà parvenus, marchons suivant la même règle, et soyons enclins à la même chose.

 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

17 Frères, suivez-moi tous, et remarquez ceux qui marchent ainsi comme vous nous avez pour modèle.

 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

18 (Car beaucoup marchent, dont je vous ai parlé souvent, et maintenant je vous le dis même en pleurant, qu’ils sont les ennemis de la croix de Christ:

 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

19 Desquels la fin est la destruction, desquels Dieu est leur ventre, et desquels la gloire est dans leur honte, qui sont enclins vers les choses terrestres).

 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

20 Car notre comportement est au ciel; de là aussi nous attendons le Sauveur, le Seigneur Jésus Christ:

 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

21 Qui changera notre corps vil, afin qu’il puisse être façonné semblable à son corps glorieux, selon l’œuvre par laquelle il est capable même d’assujettir toutes choses à lui.

 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
