1 Paul, un prisonnier de Jésus Christ, et Timothée notre frère, à Philémon notre cher bien-aimé, et compagnon d’œuvre,

 1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

2 Et à notre bien-aimée Apphie, et à Archippe, notre frère d’armes, et à l’église dans ta maison:

 2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

3 Grâce envers vous, et paix, de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus Christ.

 3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Je remercie mon Dieu, faisant toujours mention de toi dans mes prières,

 4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

5 Entendant parler de ton amour et de ta foi que tu as envers le Seigneur Jésus, et envers tous les saints;

 5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

6 Afin que la communication de ta foi puisse devenir efficace par la reconnaissance de toute bonne chose qui est en vous en Christ Jésus.

 6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

7 Car nous avons grande joie et consolation dans ton amour, parce que les entrailles des saints sont revigorées par toi, frère.

 7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

8 C’est pourquoi, bien que je puisse être très hardi en Christ pour t’enjoindre ce qui est convenable,

 8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

9 Cependant à cause de l’amour, je t’implore plutôt, étant tel que je suis, Paul, l’homme âgé, et maintenant aussi un prisonnier de Jésus Christ.

 9 Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

10 Je t’implore pour mon fils Onésime, que j’ai engendré dans mes liens:

 10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

11 Lequel dans le temps passé t’était inutile, mais maintenant est utile à toi et à moi:

 11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

12 Lequel je t’ai envoyé de nouveau: reçois-le donc, c’est-à-dire, comme mes propres entrailles:

 12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

13 Lequel j’aurais voulu retenir auprès de moi, pour qu’à ta place il puisse me servir dans les liens de l’évangile:

 13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

14 Mais je n’ai rien voulu faire sans ton intention; afin que ton bienfait ne soit pas comme si c’était par nécessité, mais volontairement.

 14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

15 Car peut-être s’en est-il donc allé pour un moment, afin que tu le reçoives pour toujours;

 15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

16 Non plus comme un serviteur, mais au-dessus d’un serviteur, un frère bien aimé, particulièrement de moi, mais combien plus par toi, dans la chair, et dans le Seigneur?

 16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

17 Si donc tu me comptes pour partenaire, reçois-le comme moi-même.

 17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

18 S’il t’a fait du tort, ou s’il te doit quelque chose, mets-le sur mon compte;

 18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

19 Moi, Paul, je l’ai écrit de ma propre main, je te le repayerai: bien que je ne te dise pas comment par ailleurs tu me dois ta propre personne.

 19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

20 Oui, frère, donne-moi cette joie de ta part, dans le Seigneur: revigore mes entrailles dans le Seigneur.

 20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

21 Ayant confiance dans ton obéissance je t’ai écrit, sachant que tu feras même plus que je ne dis.

 21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

22 Mais en même temps prépare-moi aussi un logement: car j’ai confiance que que à cause de vos prières je vous serai donné.

 22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

23 Voilà te saluent Epaphras, mon compagnon de prison en Christ Jésus;

 23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

24 Marc, Aristarque, Démas, Luc, mes compagnons d’œuvre.

 24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

25 La grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ soit avec votre esprit. Amen.

 25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
