1 Le cœur du roi est dans la main du SEIGNEUR, comme les rivières d'eau: il le tourne partout où il veut.

 1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

2 Tout chemin d'un homme est droit à ses propres yeux: mais le SEIGNEUR sonde les cœurs.

 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

3 Rendre la justice et le jugement est plus acceptable au SEIGNEUR que le sacrifice.

 3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

4 Un regard prétentieux et un cœur orgueilleux, et le labourage des immoraux, est péché.

 4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

5 Les pensées du diligent contribuent seulement à l'abondance; mais celles de toute personne qui est hâtive, seulement au manque.

 5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

6 L’obtention de trésors par une langue menteuse est une vanité lancée çà et là, par ceux qui cherchent la mort.

 6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

7 Le vol des immoraux les détruira; parce qu’ils refusent de rendre le jugement.

 7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

8 Le chemin de l’homme est récalcitrant et étrange: mais quant au pur, son œuvre est droite.

 8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

9 Mieux vaut demeurer au coin d'un toit, qu’avec une femme querelleuse dans une grande maison.

 9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

10 L'âme des immoraux désire le mal: son voisin ne trouve aucune grâce à ses yeux.

 10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

11 Lorsque le dédaigneux est puni, le simplet est rendu sage: et lorsque le sage est instruit, il reçoit la connaissance.

 11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

12 L’homme droit considère avec sagesse la maison des immoraux: mais Dieu renverse les immoraux à cause de leur immoralité.

 12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

13 Quiconque ferme son oreille au cri du pauvre, lui-même criera aussi, mais ne sera pas entendu.

 13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

14 Un don en secret apaise la colère: et une récompense dans son sein calme un fort courroux.

 14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

15 C'est une joie pour les justes de rendre le jugement: mais la destruction sera pour les ouvriers de l'iniquité.

 15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

16 L'homme qui s'égare du chemin de la compréhension restera dans la congrégation des morts.

 16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

17 Celui qui aime les plaisirs sera un homme pauvre: celui qui aime le vin et l'huile ne s'enrichira pas.

 17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

18 Les immoraux seront une rançon pour les droits, et les transgresseurs celle des intègres.

 18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

19 Mieux vaut demeurer dans le désert, qu'avec une femme querelleuse et coléreuse.

 19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

20 Il y a un trésor désirable et de l'huile dans la demeure des sages; mais un homme insensé les gaspille.

 20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

21 Celui qui suit la droiture et la miséricorde trouve vie, droiture, et honneur.

 21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

22 Un homme sage monte dans la ville des puissants, et abat la vigueur de la confiance de celle-ci.

 22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

23 Quiconque garde sa bouche et sa langue, garde son âme des difficultés.

 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

24 Orgueilleux et hautain dédaigneux est son nom, qui agit avec un orgueilleux courroux.

 24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

25 Le désir de l’oisif le tue; car ses mains refusent de travailler.

 25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

26 Il convoite avidement tout le long du jour: mais le droit donne et n’épargne pas.

 26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

27 Le sacrifice des immoraux est une abomination: combien plus lorsqu'il l'apporte avec une intention immorale?

 27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

28 Un faux témoin périra: mais l'homme qui entend parle constamment.

 28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

29 Un homme immoral endurcit son visage: mais quant à l’intègre, il dirige son chemin.

 29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

30 Il n'y a ni sagesse, ni compréhension, ni conseil, face au SEIGNEUR.

 30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

31 Le cheval est préparé en vue du jour de la bataille: mais la sécurité vient du SEIGNEUR.

 31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
