Un Psaume de David.

 A Psalm of David.

1 Ne te tracasse pas à cause des malfaisants, ne sois pas non plus envieux des ouvriers d’iniquité.

 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 Car ils seront bientôt coupés comme l’herbe, et se faneront comme la plante verte.

 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3 Confie-toi dans le SEIGNEUR, et fais le bien; ainsi demeureras-tu dans le pays, et en vérité tu seras nourri.

 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Délecte-toi aussi dans le SEIGNEUR; et il te donnera les désirs de ton cœur.

 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Remets ton chemin au SEIGNEUR; et confie-toi aussi en lui; et il le fera arriver.

 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6 Et il produira ta droiture comme la lumière, et ton jugement comme le plein midi.

 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

7 Repose-toi dans le SEIGNEUR, et attends-le patiemment: ne te tracasse pas à cause de celui qui prospère dans son chemin, à cause de l’homme qui mène à bien ses desseins immoraux.

 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8 Cesse la colère, et abandonne le courroux: ne te tracasse en aucune manière pour faire le mal.

 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

9 Car les malfaisants seront retranchés: mais ceux qui s’attendent au SEIGNEUR, hériteront la terre.

 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

10 Car encore un peu de temps et l’homme immoral ne sera plus: oui, tu considéreras diligemment sa place, et elle ne sera plus.

 10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

11 Mais les dociles hériteront la terre; et se délecteront dans l’abondance de paix.

 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 L’homme immoral complote contre le juste, et grince ses dents contre lui.

 12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13 Le Seigneur se rira de lui: car il voit que son jour arrive.

 13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

14 Les hommes immoraux ont tiré l’épée, et ont bandé leur arc, pour jeter à terre les pauvres et les nécessiteux, et pour tuer ceux qui ont un comportement intègre.

 14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

15 Leur épée entrera dans leur propre cœur, et leurs arcs seront brisés.

 15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

16 Le peu que l’homme droit possède est mieux que les richesses de beaucoup d’hommes immoraux.

 16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

17 Car les bras des hommes immoraux seront brisés: mais le SEIGNEUR soutient les hommes droits.

 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

18 Le SEIGNEUR connaît les jours des intègres: et leur patrimoine sera pour toujours.

 18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19 Ils ne seront pas honteux au temps du malheur; et aux jours de la famine ils seront rassasiés.

 19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 Mais les hommes immoraux périront, et les ennemis du SEIGNEUR seront comme la graisse des agneaux: ils se dissiperont; en fumée se dissiperont-ils.

 20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21 L’homme immoral emprunte, et ne repaye pas: mais l’homme droit use de miséricorde, et donne.

 21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22 Car de tels qui sont bénis de lui hériteront la terre: et ceux qui sont maudits de lui seront retranchés.

 22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

23 Les pas d’un homme bon sont dirigés par le SEIGNEUR: et il se délecte dans son chemin.

 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

24 Bien qu’un homme tombe, il ne sera pas entièrement renversé: car le SEIGNEUR le soutient avec sa main.

 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

25 J’ai été jeune, et maintenant suis vieux; cependant je n’ai pas vu l’homme droit abandonné, ni sa semence mendiant son pain.

 25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

26 Il est toujours miséricordieux, et prête, et sa semence est bénie.

 26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

27 Retire-toi du mal, et fais le bien; et demeure à tout jamais.

 27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

28 Car le SEIGNEUR aime le jugement, et n’abandonne pas ses saints; ils sont préservés pour toujours: mais la semence des hommes immoraux sera retranchée.

 28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 Les hommes droits hériteront la terre, et y demeureront pour toujours.

 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

30 La bouche de l’homme droit profère la sagesse, et sa langue parle de jugement.

 30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

31 La loi de son Dieu est dans son cœur; aucun de ses pas ne glissera.

 31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

32 L’homme immoral observe l’homme droit, et cherche à le tuer.

 32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

33 Le SEIGNEUR ne le laissera pas dans sa main, ni ne le condamnera lorsqu’il sera jugé.

 33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 Attends-toi au SEIGNEUR, et garde son chemin; et il t’exaltera pour hériter la terre: lorsque les hommes immoraux seront retranchés, tu le verras.

 34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35 J’ai vu l’homme immoral avec grand pouvoir, et s’étendant comme un laurier vert.

 35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

36 Cependant il disparut, et, voici, il ne fut plus: oui, je le cherchai, mais on ne put plus le trouver.

 36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 Remarque l’homme parfait, et contemple l’intègre: car la fin de cet homme est paix.

 37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

38 Mais les transgresseurs seront détruits ensemble: la fin des hommes immoraux sera retranchée.

 38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 Mais le salut des hommes droits vient du SEIGNEUR: il est leur vigueur au moment de la difficulté.

 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

40 Et le SEIGNEUR les aidera et les délivrera: il les délivrera des hommes immoraux, et les sauvera, parce qu’ils se confient en lui.

 40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
