Un Psaume d’Asaph.

 A Psalm of Asaph.

1 Le Dieu puissant, c’est-à-dire le SEIGNEUR, a parlé, et a appelé la terre, depuis le lever du soleil jusqu’à son coucher.

 1 The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

2 Depuis Sion, la perfection de la beauté, Dieu a brillé.

 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

3 Notre Dieu viendra, et ne gardera pas le silence: un feu dévorera devant lui, et ce sera très tempétueux tout autour de lui.

 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

4 Il appellera vers les cieux d’en haut, et vers la terre, afin qu’il puisse juger son peuple.

 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

5 Assemblez mes saints vers moi; ceux qui ont fait une alliance avec moi par sacrifice.

 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6 Et les cieux déclareront sa droiture: car Dieu lui-même est juge. Selah.

 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

7 Entends, ô mon peuple, et je parlerai; ô Israël et j’attesterai contre toi: Je suis Dieu, c’est-à-dire, ton Dieu.

 7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

8 Je ne te réprouverai pas pour tes sacrifices ou pour tes offrandes consumées, pour avoir été continuellement devant moi.

 8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

9 Je ne prendrai aucun bouvillon de ta maison, ni de boucs de tes parcs.

 9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10 Car chaque bête de la forêt est à moi, et le bétail sur un millier de collines.

 10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11 Je connais tous les volatiles des montagnes: et les bêtes sauvages des champs sont à moi.

 11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12 Si j’avais faim, je ne te le dirais pas: car le monde est à moi, et tout ce qu’il renferme.

 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13 Mangerais-je la chair des taureaux, ou boirais-je le sang des chèvres?

 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

14 Offre à Dieu des remerciements; et accomplis tes vœux envers le plus Haut:

 14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

15 Et fais appel à moi au jour de la difficulté: je te délivrerai, et tu me glorifieras.

 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16 Mais à l’homme immoral Dieu dit: Qu’as-tu à faire à déclarer mes statuts, ou que tu prennes mon alliance dans ta bouche?

 16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

17 Vu que tu hais l’instruction, et jettes mes paroles derrière toi.

 17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

18 Lorsque tu vis un voleur, alors tu fus d’accord avec lui, et tu as pris part avec lui avec les adultères.

 18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

19 Tu donnes ta bouche au mal, et ta langue trame la tromperie.

 19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

20 Tu t’assieds et parles contre ton frère; tu diffames le fils de ta propre mère.

 20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.

21 Ces choses as-tu faites, et je gardai le silence; tu penses que j’étais tout à fait tel une personne comme toi: mais je te réprouverai, et les placerai en ordre devant tes yeux.

 21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

22 Maintenant considérez cela, vous, qui oubliez Dieu, de peur que je ne vous déchire en morceaux, et qu’il n’y ait personne pour délivrer.

 22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23 Quiconque offre la louange me glorifie: et à celui qui ordonne sa conduite correctement je déclarerai le salut de Dieu.

 23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
