1 Et à l’ange de l’église à Sardes, écris: Ces choses dit celui qui a les sept Esprits de Dieu, et les sept étoiles; je connais tes œuvres, que tu as un nom que tu vis, et tu es mort.

 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

2 Sois vigilant, et affermis les choses qui restent, qui sont prêtes à mourir: car je n’ai pas trouvé tes œuvres parfaites devant Dieu.

 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

3 Souviens-toi donc comment tu as reçu et entendu, et tenu ferme, et repens-toi. Si donc tu ne veilles pas, je viendrai sur toi comme un voleur, et tu ne sauras pas à quelle heure je viendrai sur toi.

 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

4 Tu as quelques personnes même à Sardes qui n’ont pas souillé leurs vêtements; et elles marcheront avec moi vêtues de blanc: car elles en sont dignes.

 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

5 Celui qui l’emporte, celui-là sera vêtu d’habits blancs; et je n’effacerai pas son nom du livre de vie, mais je confesserai son nom devant mon Père et devant ses anges.

 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

6 Que celui qui a une oreille, qu’il entende ce que l’Esprit dit aux églises.

 6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

7 Et à l’ange de l’église à Philadelphie, écris: Ces choses dit celui qui est saint, qui est véritable, celui qui a la clé de David, celui qui ouvre, et aucun homme ne ferme; et qui ferme, et aucun homme n’ouvre;

 7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

8 Je connais tes œuvres: voici, j’ai placé devant toi une porte ouverte, et aucun homme ne peut la fermer: car tu as peu de force, et tu as gardé ma parole, et tu n’as pas renié mon nom.

 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

9 Voici, je ferai de ceux de la synagogue de Satan, lesquels disent qu’ils sont Juifs, et ne le sont pas, mais qui mentent; voici, je les ferai venir et adorer devant tes pieds, et qu’ils sachent que je t’ai aimée.

 9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

10 Parce que tu as gardé la parole de ma patience, je te garderai aussi de l’heure de la tentation, laquelle viendra sur tout le monde, pour éprouver ceux qui demeurent sur la terre.

 10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

11 Voici, je viens rapidement: tiens ferme ce que tu as, afin qu’aucun homme ne s’empare de ta couronne.

 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

12 De celui qui l’emporte, je ferai un pilier dans le temple de mon Dieu, et il n’en sortira plus: et j’écrirai sur lui le nom de mon Dieu, et le nom de la ville de mon Dieu, laquelle est la nouvelle Jérusalem, laquelle descend du ciel, d’auprès de mon Dieu: et j’écrirai sur lui mon nouveau nom.

 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

13 Que celui qui a une oreille, qu’il entende ce que l’Esprit dit aux églises.

 13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

14 Et à l’ange de l’église des Laodicéens, écris; Ces choses dit l’Amen, le fidèle et véritable témoin, celui à l’origine de la création de Dieu;

 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15 Je connais tes œuvres, que tu n’es ni froid ni chaud: J’aurais voulu que tu sois froid ou chaud.

 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 Ainsi donc parce que tu es tiède, et ni froid ni chaud, je te vomirai hors de ma bouche.

 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17 Parce que tu dis, Je suis riche, et j’ai accru mes biens, et n’ai besoin de rien; et tu ne sais pas, que tu es lamentable, et misérable, et pauvre, et aveugle, et nu:

 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 Je te conseille d’acheter de moi de l’or éprouvé par le feu, afin que tu puisses être riche; et un habillement blanc, afin que tu puisses être vêtu, et que la honte de ta nudité ne paraisse pas; et d’oindre tes yeux de collyre, afin que tu puisses voir.

 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19 Tous ceux que j’aime, je reprends et châtie: sois donc zélé, et repens-toi.

 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 Voici, je me tiens à la porte, et frappe: si un homme entend ma voix, et ouvre la porte, j’entrerai chez lui, et je souperai avec lui, et lui avec moi.

 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21 À celui qui l’emporte, je lui accorderai de s’asseoir avec moi sur mon trône, comme moi aussi je l’ai emporté, et suis assis avec mon Père sur son trône.

 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

22 Que celui qui a une oreille, qu’il entende ce que l’Esprit dit aux églises.

 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
