1 Et là vint l’un des sept anges qui avait les sept fioles, et me parla, me disant: Viens ici; je te montrerai le jugement de la grande prostituée qui est assise sur de nombreuses eaux:

 1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2 Avec laquelle les rois de la terre ont commis fornication, et les habitants de la terre ont été enivrés du vin de sa fornication.

 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 Ainsi il m’emporta en l’esprit dans le désert: et je vis une femme assise sur une bête de couleur écarlate, pleine de noms de blasphème, ayant sept têtes et dix cornes.

 3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 Et la femme était parée de couleur pourpre et d’écarlate, et ornée d’or, et de pierres précieuses et de perles, ayant dans sa main une coupe d’or pleine des abominations et de la saleté de sa fornication:

 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 Et sur son front était écrit un nom, MYSTÈRE, BABYLONE LA GRANDE, LA MÈRE DES PROSTITUÉES ET DES ABOMINATIONS DE LA TERRE.

 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

6 Et je vis la femme enivrée du sang des saints et du sang des martyrs de Jésus: et lorsque je la vis, je m’interrogeai avec grande admiration.

 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

7 Et l’ange me dit: Pourquoi es-tu émerveillé? Je vais te dire le mystère de la femme, et de la bête qui la porte, laquelle a les sept têtes et les dix cornes.

 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

8 La bête que tu as vue était, et n’est pas; et elle s’élèvera de la fosse sans fond, et ira à la perdition: et ceux qui demeurent sur la terre, dont les noms n’étaient pas écrits dans le livre de vie depuis la fondation du monde, s’interrogeront lorsqu’ils regarderont la bête qui était, et n’est pas, et cependant est.

 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 Et là est le cerveau qui a de la sagesse. Les sept têtes sont sept montagnes, sur lesquelles la femme est assise.

 9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10 Et il y a sept rois: cinq sont tombés, et l’un est, et l’autre n’est pas encore venu; et quand il vient, il doit continuer un court moment.

 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11 Et la bête qui était, et qui n’est pas, est elle-même le huitième, et est d’entre les sept, et va à la perdition.

 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12 Et les dix cornes que tu as vues sont dix rois, lesquels n’ont reçu aucun royaume jusqu’à présent; mais ils reçoivent du pouvoir en tant que roi une heure avec la bête.

 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 Ceux-ci ont une seule intention, et donneront leur pouvoir et leur vigueur à la bête.

 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 Ceux-ci feront la guerre à l’Agneau, et l’Agneau les vaincra: car il est Seigneur des seigneurs, et Roi des rois: et ceux qui sont avec lui sont appelés, et choisis, et fidèles.

 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 Et il me dit: Les eaux que tu as vues, où la prostituée est assise, sont des peuples, et multitudes, et nations, et langues.

 15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 Et les dix cornes que tu as vues sur la bête, celles-ci haïront la prostituée, et la rendront déserte et nue, et mangeront sa chair, et la brûleront au feu.

 16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 Car Dieu a mis dans leurs cœurs d’réaliser sa volonté, et d’être d’accord, et de donner leur royaume à la bête, jusqu’à ce que les paroles de Dieu soient réalisées.

 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 Et la femme que tu as vue est cette grande ville qui règne sur les rois de la terre.

 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
