1 Et je vis un ange descendre du ciel, ayant la clé de la fosse sans fond et une grande chaîne dans sa main.

 1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 Et il saisit le dragon, ce vieux serpent, qui est le Diable, et Satan, et le lia pour mille ans,

 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 Et il le jeta dans la fosse sans fond, et l’enferma, et plaça un sceau sur lui, afin qu’il ne puisse plus tromper les nations, jusqu’à ce que les mille ans soient révolus: et après cela il doit être délié une courte saison.

 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

4 Et je vis des trônes, et ils s’assirent dessus, et le jugement leur fut donné: et je vis les âmes de ceux qui avaient été décapités pour le témoignage de Jésus, et pour la parole de Dieu, et qui n’avaient pas adoré la bête, ni son image, ni n’avaient reçu sa marque sur leurs fronts, ou dans leurs mains; et ils vécurent et régnèrent avec Christ mille ans.

 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5 Mais le reste des morts ne revécut pas jusqu’à ce que les mille ans soient achevés. C’est là la première résurrection.

 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6 Béni et saint est celui qui a part à la première résurrection: sur ceux-là la seconde mort n’a aucun pouvoir, mais ils seront prêtres de Dieu et de Christ, et régneront avec lui mille ans.

 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7 Et lorsque les mille ans seront terminés, Satan sera délié hors de sa prison,

 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8 Et il sortira pour tromper les nations qui sont aux quatre coins de la terre, Gog et Magog, pour les rassembler pour la bataille: le nombre desquels est comme le sable de la mer.

 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 Et ils montèrent sur l’étendue de la terre, et entourèrent le camp des saints, et la ville bien-aimée: et du feu descendit de Dieu venant du ciel, et les dévora.

 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 Et le diable qui les avait trompés fut jeté dans le lac de feu et de soufre, où la bête et le faux prophète sont, et seront tourmentés jour et nuit pour toujours et à jamais.

 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 Et je vis un grand trône blanc, et celui qui était assis dessus, devant la face duquel la terre et le ciel s’enfuirent; et il ne fut trouvé aucune place pour eux.

 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 Et je vis les morts, petits et grands, se tenir devant Dieu; et les livres furent ouverts: et un autre livre fut ouvert, qui est le livre de vie: et les morts furent jugés d’après ces choses qui étaient écrites dans les livres, selon leurs œuvres.

 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 Et la mer restitua les morts qui étaient en elle; et la mort et l’enfer délivrèrent les morts qui étaient en eux: et ils furent jugés chaque homme selon ses œuvres.

 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 Et la mort et l’enfer furent jetés dans le lac de feu. C’est là la seconde mort.

 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 Et quiconque n’était pas trouvé écrit dans le livre de vie, fut jeté dans le lac de feu.

 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
