1 Et je vis un nouveau ciel et une nouvelle terre: car le premier ciel et la première terre avaient disparu; et il n’y avait plus de mer.

 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 Et moi Jean vis la ville sainte, la nouvelle Jérusalem, descendant d’auprès de Dieu hors du ciel, prête comme une mariée apprêtée pour son mari.

 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 Et j’entendis une grande voix venant hors du ciel, disant: Voici, le tabernacle de Dieu est avec les hommes, et il demeurera avec eux, et ils seront son peuple, et Dieu lui-même sera avec eux, et sera leur Dieu.

 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 Et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux; et il n’y aura plus ni mort, ni tristesse, ni pleur, il n’y aura plus jamais aucune souffrance: car les choses précédentes ont disparu.

 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 Et celui qui était assis sur le trône, dit: Voici, je fais toutes choses nouvelles. Et il me dit: Écris: car ces paroles sont vraies et fidèles.

 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6 Et il me dit: C’est fait. Je suis Alpha et Oméga, le commencement et la fin. Je donnerai à celui qui est assoiffé de la source d’eau de vie gratuitement.

 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 Celui qui l’emporte héritera toutes choses; et je serai son Dieu, et il sera mon fils.

 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8 Mais les craintifs, et les incrédules, et les abominables, et les meurtriers, et les proxénètes, et les sorciers, et les idolâtres, et tous les menteurs, auront leur part dans le lac qui brûle avec le feu et le soufre: lequel est la seconde mort.

 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9 Et là vint à moi l’un des sept anges qui avaient eu les sept fioles pleines des sept dernières plaies, et il me parla, disant: Viens ici, je te montrerai la mariée, l’épouse de l’Agneau.

 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

10 Et il m’emporta dans l’esprit sur une grande et haute montagne, et il me montra cette grande ville, la sainte Jérusalem, descendant du ciel d’auprès de Dieu,

 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11 Ayant la gloire de Dieu: et sa lumière était semblable à une pierre des plus précieuses, comme une pierre de jaspe, claire comme le cristal;

 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12 Et elle avait une grande et haute muraille, et avait douze portes, et aux portes, douze anges, et des noms écrits dessus, lesquels sont les noms des douze tribus des enfants d’Israël:

 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13 À l’est trois portes; au nord trois portes; au sud trois portes; et à l’ouest trois portes.

 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14 Et la muraille de la ville avait douze fondations, et sur elles étaient les noms des douze apôtres de l’Agneau.

 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 Et celui qui me parlait avait un roseau d’or pour mesurer la ville, et ses portes, et sa muraille.

 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16 Et la ville est quadrangulaire, et la longueur est aussi grande que la largeur: et il mesura la ville avec le roseau, douze mille stades. Sa longueur et sa largeur et sa hauteur sont égales.

 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17 Et il mesura sa muraille, cent quarante-quatre coudées, selon la mesure d’un homme, c’est-à-dire, de l’ange.

 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18 Et la construction de sa muraille était de jaspe: et la ville était d’or pur, semblable à du verre clair.

 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19 Et les fondations de la muraille de la ville étaient rehaussées de toute sorte de pierres précieuses. La première fondation était de jaspe; la seconde, de saphir; la troisième, une calcédoine; la quatrième, une émeraude;

 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20 La cinquième, de sardonyx; la sixième, de sardoine; la septième, de chrysolithe; la huitième, de béryl; la neuvième, une topaze; la dixième, une chrysoprase; la onzième, une hyacinthe, la douzième, une améthyste.

 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21 Et les douze portes étaient douze perles; chaque porte était d’une seule perle: et la rue de la ville était d’or pur, comme si elle était de verre transparent.

 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22 Et je n’y vis aucun temple: car le Seigneur Dieu Tout-Puissant et l’Agneau en sont le temple.

 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23 Et la ville n’avait pas besoin du soleil, ni de la lune, pour briller en elle: car la gloire de Dieu l’éclaire, et l’Agneau en est sa lumière.

 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24 Et les nations de ceux qui sont sauvés marcheront dans sa lumière: et les rois de la terre apportent effectivement leur gloire et leur honneur en elle.

 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25 Et ses portes ne seront jamais fermées durant le jour: car il n’y aura pas de nuit là.

 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26 Et ils apporteront la gloire et l’honneur des nations en elle.

 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27 Et en aucun cas il n’entrera en elle quoi que soit qui souille, ni personne qui s’adonne à l’abomination ou qui dise un mensonge: seulement ceux qui sont écrits dans le livre de vie de l’Agneau.

 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
