1 Par conséquent tu es inexcusable, Ô homme, quiconque tu sois, qui juges: car en ce que tu juges un autre, tu te condamnes toi-même; car toi qui juges, tu fais les mêmes choses.

 1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2 Mais nous sommes sûrs que le jugement de Dieu contre ceux qui commettent de telles choses est conforme à la vérité.

 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3 Et penses-tu ceci, Ô homme, qui juges ceux qui font de telles choses, et qui fais de même, que tu échapperas au jugement de Dieu?

 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4 Ou méprises-tu la richesse de sa bonté et de son indulgence et de sa longanimité; ne sachant pas que la bonté de Dieu te conduit à la repentance?

 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5 Mais par ta dureté et ton cœur impénitent tu t’accumules le courroux pour le jour du courroux et de la révélation du droit jugement de Dieu;

 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

6 Qui rendra à chaque homme conformément à ses actions:

 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

7 À ceux qui par une patiente persévérance en faisant bien aspirent à la gloire et l’honneur et l’immortalité, la vie éternelle:

 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8 Mais envers ceux qui sont contentieux, et qui n’obéissent pas à la vérité, mais qui obéissent à l’injustice, l’indignation et le courroux,

 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9 Tribulation et angoisse, sur toute âme d’homme qui fait le mal, du Juif d’abord, et aussi du Gentil;

 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10 Mais gloire, honneur, et paix, à tout homme qui fait le bien, au Juif d’abord, et aussi au Gentil:

 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11 Car il n’y a aucune distinction de personnes avec Dieu.

 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

12 Car tout autant que sont ceux qui ont péché sans loi, périront aussi sans la loi: et tout autant que sont ceux qui ont péché dans la loi seront jugés par la loi;

 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13 (Car ce ne sont pas les auditeurs de la loi qui sont justes devant Dieu, mais ceux qui exécutent la loi seront justifiés.

 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14 Car lorsque les Gentils, qui n’ont pas la loi, exécutent par nature les choses contenues dans la loi, ceux-là, n’ayant pas la loi, constituent une loi en eux-mêmes.

 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15 Lesquels démontrent l’œuvre de la loi écrite dans leurs cœurs, leur conscience aussi rendant témoignage, et leurs pensées pendant ce temps s'accusant ou bien s’excusant l’une l’autre);

 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

16 Au jour où Dieu jugera les secrets des hommes par Jésus Christ selon mon évangile.

 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

17 Voici, tu es appelé un Juif, et te reposes dans la loi, et tu te vantes de Dieu,

 17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,

18 Et connais sa volonté, et approuves les choses qui sont plus excellentes, étant instruit dans la loi;

 18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

19 Et as confiance que tu es toi-même un guide des aveugles, une lumière de ceux qui sont dans l’obscurité,

 19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,

20 Un instructeur des insensés, un enseignant des bébés, qui détient la forme de la connaissance et de la vérité dans la loi.

 20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.

21 Toi donc qui enseignes les autres, ne t’enseignes-tu pas toi-même? Toi qui prêches qu’un homme ne devrait pas voler, voles-tu?

 21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

22 Toi qui dis qu’un homme ne devrait pas commettre d’adultère, commets-tu adultère? Toi qui abhorres les idoles, commets-tu sacrilège?

 22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

23 Toi qui te vantes de la loi, en enfreignant la loi déshonores-tu Dieu?

 23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

24 Car le nom de Dieu est blasphémé parmi les Gentils à cause de vous, comme il est écrit.

 24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

25 Car la circoncision est en vérité utile, si tu gardes la loi: mais si tu es un infracteur de la loi, ta circoncision est devenue incirconcision.

 25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

26 Par conséquent si l’incirconcision garde la droiture de la loi, son incirconcision ne sera-t-elle pas comptée pour circoncision?

 26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

27 Et l’incirconcision laquelle l’est par nature, si elle accomplit la loi, ne devra-t--elle pas te juger, toi qui par la lettre et la circoncision transgresses la loi?

 27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

28 Car il n’est pas un Juif, celui qui l’est extérieurement; n’est pas non plus cette circoncision, qui est extérieure dans la chair:

 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29 Mais il est un Juif, celui qui en est un intérieurement; et la circoncision est celle du cœur, dans l’esprit, et non dans la lettre; duquel la louange n’est pas des hommes, mais de Dieu.

 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
