1 Par conséquent étant justifiés par la foi, nous avons la paix avec Dieu par le moyen de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ:

 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Par lequel nous avons aussi accès par la foi en cette grâce dans laquelle nous nous tenons, et nous nous réjouissons dans l’espérance de la gloire de Dieu.

 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 Et non seulement cela, mais nous nous glorifions dans les tribulations aussi: sachant que la tribulation produit la patience;

 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 Et la patience, l’expérience, et l’expérience, l’espérance:

 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 Et l’espérance ne rend pas honteux; parce que l’amour de Dieu est versé largement dans nos cœurs par l’Esprit Saint qui nous est donné.

 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

6 Car lorsque nous étions encore sans vigueur, au moment prévu, Christ est mort pour les impies.

 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 Car rarement pour un homme droit quelqu’un mourrait: toutefois peut-être pour un homme bon quelques-uns oseraient même mourir.

 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8 Mais Dieu dirige son amour vers nous, en ce que, pendant que nous étions encore pécheurs, Christ mourut pour nous.

 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Bien plus donc, étant maintenant justifiés par son sang, serons-nous sauvés du courroux par son intermédiaire.

 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10 Car si, lorsque nous étions ennemis, nous avons été réconciliés à Dieu par la mort de son Fils, bien plus, étant réconciliés, nous serons sauvés par sa vie.

 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

11 Et non seulement cela, mais nous nous réjouissons aussi en Dieu par l'intermédiaire de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, par qui nous avons maintenant reçu la réconciliation.

 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

12 C’est pourquoi, comme par un seul homme le péché entra dans le monde, et la mort par le péché; et ainsi la mort passa sur tous les hommes, par quoi tous ont péché:

 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

13 (Car jusqu’à la loi le péché était dans le monde: mais le péché n’est pas imputé lorsqu’il n’y a aucune loi.

 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14 Néanmoins la mort régna d’Adam à Moïse, c’est-à-dire sur ceux qui n’avaient pas péché de manière similaire à la transgression d’Adam, qui est la représentation de celui qui devait venir.

 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

15 Mais non comme l’offense, de même aussi est le don gratuit. Car si au moyen de l’offense d’un seul beaucoup sont morts, bien plus la grâce de Dieu, et le don par grâce, lequel est par un seul homme, Jésus Christ, a abondé envers beaucoup.

 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

16 Et non comme il en fut par un seul qui pécha, ainsi est le don: car le jugement fut d’un seul à la condamnation, mais le don gratuit vient de beaucoup d’offenses vers la justification.

 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

17 Car si par l’offense d’un seul homme la mort régna par un seul; bien plus ceux qui reçoivent une abondance de grâce et du don de droiture régneront dans la vie par un seul, Jésus Christ).

 17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18 Par conséquent comme par l’offense d’un seul le jugement est venu sur tous les hommes pour la condamnation; oui certainement par la droiture d’un seul, le don gratuit est venu sur tous les hommes en justification de vie.

 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19 Car comme par la désobéissance d’un seul homme beaucoup furent rendus pécheurs, ainsi par l’obéissance d’un seul beaucoup seront rendus droits.

 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

20 De plus la loi fit son entrée, afin que l’offense puisse abonder. Mais où le péché a abondé, la grâce a beaucoup plus abondé:

 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21 Que comme le péché a régné jusqu’à la mort, que oui certainement puisse la grâce régner par le moyen de la droiture jusqu’à la vie éternelle par Jésus Christ notre Seigneur.

 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
