1 De nouveau David assembla tous les hommes d’élite d’Israël, au nombre de trente mille.
|
1 Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
|
2 Et David se leva, et partit avec tout le peuple qui était avec lui, de Baale de Judah, pour transporter de là l’arche de Dieu, duquel le nom est appelé du nom du SEIGNEUR des armées, qui demeure entre les chérubins.
|
2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.
|
3 Et ils mirent l’arche de Dieu sur une charrette neuve, et ils l’emmenèrent de la maison d’Abinadab, qui était à Gibeah (Guibeah) ; et Uzzah et Ahio (Akhio) les fils d’Abinadab, conduisaient la charrette neuve.
|
3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.
|
4 Et ils l’emmenèrent de la maison d’Abinadab qui était à Gibeah (Guibeah), accompagnant l’arche de Dieu, et Ahio allait devant l’arche.
|
4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.
|
5 Et David et toute la maison d’Israël jouaient devant le SEIGNEUR de toutes sortes d’instruments de bois de cyprès, même sur des harpes, et des psaltérions, des tambourins, des cornets et de cymbales.
|
5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.
|
6 ¶ Et quand ils arrivèrent à l’aire de Nacon, Uzzah porta sa main sur l’arche de Dieu et la saisit, parce que les bœufs l’avaient secouée.
|
6 ¶ And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
|
7 Et le courroux du SEIGNEUR s’embrasa contre Uzzah, et Dieu le frappa là à cause de son erreur, et il mourut là, près de l’arche de Dieu.
|
7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
|
8 Et David fut irrité de ce que le SEIGNEUR avait porté préjudice à Uzzah, et il appela le nom de ce lieu-là Perezuzzah jusqu’à ce jour.
|
8 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.
|
9 Et David eut peur du SEIGNEUR en ce jour-là, et il dit : Comment l’arche du SEIGNEUR entrera-t-elle chez moi ?
|
9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?
|
10 Alors David ne voulut pas retirer l’arche du SEIGNEUR chez lui, dans la cité de David ; mais David l’emmena à part dans la maison d’Obededom, le Gittite.
|
10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
|
11 Et l’arche du SEIGNEUR demeura dans la maison d’Obededom, le Gittite, trois mois ; et le SEIGNEUR bénit Obededom et toute sa maisonnée.
|
11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.
|
12 ¶ Et on rapporta au roi David, disant : Le SEIGNEUR a béni la maison d’Obededom et tout ce qui lui appartient, à cause de l’arche de Dieu. Alors David alla, et fit monter l’arche de Dieu, de la maison d’Obededom en la cité de David, avec joie.
|
12 ¶ And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
|
13 Et il arriva ainsi, quand ceux qui portaient l’arche de Dieu avaient fait six pas, il sacrifia des bœufs et des bêtes grasses.
|
13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.
|
14 Et David dansait de toute sa force devant le SEIGNEUR ; et David était ceint d’un éphod de lin.
|
14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
|
15 Ainsi David et toute la maison d’Israël montèrent l’arche du SEIGNEUR, avec des cris de joie et au son de la trompette.
|
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
|
16 Et comme l’arche du SEIGNEUR entrait dans la cité de David, Michal, la fille de Saul (Saül), regarda par la fenêtre, et vit le roi David sautant et dansant devant le SEIGNEUR, et elle le méprisa en son cœur.
|
16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
|
17 ¶ Et ils apportèrent l’arche du SEIGNEUR et la placèrent en son lieu, au centre du tabernacle que David lui avait tendu pour elle; et David offrit des offrandes consumées et des offrandes de paix devant le SEIGNEUR.
|
17 ¶ And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
|
18 Et dès que David eut achevé d’offrir les offrandes consumées et les offrandes de paix, il bénit le peuple au nom du SEIGNEUR des armées ;
|
18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.
|
19 Et il distribua parmi tout le peuple, savoir parmi toute la multitude d’Israël, tant aux femmes qu’aux hommes, à chacun un gâteau de pain, et un bon morceau de chair et un flacon de vin. Ainsi tout le peuple partit chacun en sa maison.
|
19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
|
20 ¶ Puis David retourna pour bénir sa maison. Et Michal la fille de Saul (Saül), vint à la rencontre de David, et dit : Combien s’est glorifié aujourd’hui le roi d’Israël, qui s’est découvert aujourd’hui aux yeux des femmes de chambre de ses serviteurs, comme se découvrirait un de ces vaniteux individu sans en avoir honte !

20 ¶ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
|
21 Et David dit à Michal : C’était devant le SEIGNEUR, lequel m’a choisi plutôt que ton père et que toute sa maison, pour m’établir ddirigeant sur le peuple du SEIGNEUR, sur Israël : c’est pourquoi je jouerai devant le SEIGNEUR.
|
21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
|
22 Et je me rendrai encore plus vil que cela, et m’abaisserai à mes yeux ; et es femmes de chambre dont tu as parlé, auprès d’elles je serai en honneur.
|
22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
|
23 C’est pourquoi Michal la fille de Saul (Saül), n’eut pas d’enfants jusqu’au jour de sa mort.
|
23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
|
