1 Finalement, frères, priez pour nous, pour que la parole du Seigneur puisse avoir libre cours, et soit glorifiée, c’est-à-dire comme cela est avec vous:
|
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
|
2 Et afin que nous puissions être délivrés des hommes déraisonnables et pervers: car tous les hommes n’ont pas la foi.
|
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
|
3 Mais le Seigneur est fidèle, qui vous établira et vous gardera du mal.
|
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
|
4 Et nous avons confiance dans le Seigneur à votre sujet, que vous faites et ferez les choses que nous vous commandons.
|
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
|
5 Et que le Seigneur dirige vos cœurs à l’amour de Dieu et à la patiente attente de Christ.
|
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
|
6 Or, nous vous commandons, frères, dans le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, que vous vous retiriez de tout frère qui marche de façon désordonnée, et non d’après la tradition qu’il a reçue de nous.
|
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
|
7 Car vous-mêmes savez comment vous devez suivre notre exemple: car nous ne nous sommes pas comportés de façon désordonnée parmi vous;
|
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
|
8 Ni n’avons mangé du pain chez quelqu’un pour rien; mais avons procédé laborieusement et travaillant nuit et jour, pour que nous ne soyons à la charge d’aucun de vous:
|
8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
|
9 Non parce que nous n’en avons pas le pouvoir, mais afin de faire de nous-mêmes un modèle pour que vous nous suiviez.
|
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
|
10 Car aussi lorsque nous étions avec vous, nous vous commandions ceci, que si quelqu’un ne veut pas travailler, il ne mangerait pas non plus.
|
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
|
11 Car nous entendons qu’il y en a quelques-uns parmi vous qui marchent de façon désordonnée, ne travaillant pas du tout, mais se mêlant des affaires des autres.
|
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
|
12 Or à ceux qui sont tels nous leur commandons, et nous les exhortons par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, qu’ils travaillent tranquillement et mangent leur propre pain.
|
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
|
13 Mais vous, frères, ne vous lassez pas de bien faire.
|
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
|
14 Et si quelqu’un n’obéit pas à notre parole par cette épître, marquez cet homme, et ne tenez pas compagnie avec lui, afin qu’il puisse en être honteux.
|
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
|
15 Cependant, ne le considérez pas comme un ennemi, mais admonestez-le comme un frère.
|
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
|
16 Que le Seigneur de paix lui-même vous donne toujours la paix en toute manière. Le Seigneur soit avec vous tous.
|
16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
|
17 La salutation de Paul, de ma propre main, ce qui est l’indice dans chaque épître: j'écris ainsi.
|
17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
|
18 La grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ soit avec vous tous. Amen.
|
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
